Background / History

Laozi cultivated on Kunlun Mountain with Yuanshi and Tongtian as the eldest of the Three Pure Ones. Before departing for Purple Heaven Palace, he noticed movement from the Five Needles Pine of Innate Origin in their courtyard—Chen Song's original form. 1

After Chen Song survived his transformation tribulation, Laozi recognized their karmic connection and accepted him as the eldest disciple of his Taiqing sect. He personally taught Chen Song the Taiqing Immortal Method while traveling to Purple Heaven Palace, helping him stabilize at the mid-stage Grand Unity Golden Immortal realm. 2 3

Laozi supervised Chen Song's cultivation with a mixture of patience and strict discipline.
