Karma/Fate Recruitment

The Western Teachings invoke “Karma/Fate” to frame their interest in targets as a Heavenly Dao-sanctioned connection. Maitreya characterized Xuanwei’s compassionate actions and fortune as evidence that he was naturally suited to the West, then invited him to cultivate in the Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss 40.

• Maitreya presented the offer as “forging good Karma/Fate” and discussing Dao rather than demanding that Xuanwei abandon the Intercepting Sect 40.
• Yunxiao identifies their methods as capable of subtly influencing minds, obscuring judgment, and forcibly creating karma with people they deem “fated” 42.
• Xuanwei rejected Maitreya’s invitation by affirming his loyalty to Sect Master Tongtian and the Intercepting Sect 40.

Guiding the Fated Formation

Near Liubo Immortal Island, the Western Teachings deployed a large formation using golden artifacts with spatial fluctuations. Their disciples referred to “induction,” “guidance,” and “guiding the fated,” suggesting that the formation was intended to draw selected targets toward it 41.

• The formation was established in the sea region where Xuanwei had obtained the Remnant Seed of Jianmu 40 41.
• Xuanwei and the San Xiao sisters baited the formation with a simulated Chaos Spiritual Treasure aura, causing a backlash that injured and disrupted the Western Teachings’ disciples 42.
• The Mysterious Ink Turtle, disturbed by the formation, destroyed it and forced the Western cultivators to flee 42 43.

Secret-Realm Intrusion

Though their Liubo formation was destroyed, its remaining foundations and spatial nodes were later used to trigger an ancient deep-sea spatial fold, opening a temporary entrance to a Guixu-related secret realm 47.

• The group stabilized the secret realm entrance and tracked Xuanwei inside 48.
• Xuanwei stirred the Guixu Black Water pool and directed guardian puppets and chaotic energy toward the entrance, delaying their advance 49.
• A violent disturbance at the canyon altar subsequently destabilized the secret realm, which began to collapse 50.

Attack on Golden Ao Island

Gandharva Bodhisattva launched a surprise attack on Golden Ao Island with Immortal-Slaying Sword Fiend Qi, declaring an intention to “stop killing with killing” and prevent Tongtian from preaching “heretical doctrines.” Daoist Duobao fought Gandharva for more than a hundred rounds, repelled him with the Azure Pine Sword, and temporarily sealed the Fiend Qi 32 33.

Attempt to Recruit Xuanwei

After Xuanwei became Sect Master Tongtian’s personal disciple, Maitreya arrived at Biyou Palace with Pharmacist, Sunlight, and Moonlight. He declared that Xuanwei possessed Karma/Fate with the West and attempted to recruit him; Xuanwei publicly refused while defending the Intercepting Sect’s lineage and reputation 39 40.

Liubo Formation Scheme

The Western Teachings searched the waters around Liubo Immortal Island and assembled a spatially active guiding formation. The San Xiao sisters and Xuanwei intervened, using the Chaos Bead’s aura as bait to turn the formation’s backlash against its operators before the Mysterious Ink Turtle destroyed the structure 40 41 42.

Guixu Secret Realm Pursuit

The surviving formation infrastructure led to a temporary Guixu secret-realm entrance. The Western Teachings entered after Xuanwei, but he escaped by turning the realm’s guardian puppets and chaotic Guixu energy against them 47 48 49.

• Intercepting Sect — Principal rival lineage; the Western Teachings attacked Golden Ao Island, sought to disrupt Tongtian’s sermon, and targeted its disciples through the Liubo formation 33 41 42.
