Background / History

Power armour is one of the real, usable rewards available through the Emperor's Deployment Box, and exchanged equipment can be brought into the 3K world. Its availability helps tempt Chen Xi into accepting the box's missions 2.

For Space Marine Chapters, armour is often a multigenerational inheritance: a suit can survive its wearer and pass to later warriors. The Silver Blades demonstrate the consequences of inadequate replacement supplies, maintaining veterans' equipment with old spare parts and assembling recruits' suits from fallen brothers' armour 49 404.

Saturnine Recovery

Saturnine armour originated as a heavy engineering exoskeleton for construction in the extreme conditions of Saturn's rings. Its design was subsequently adapted for warfare. Vulkan's revised version retained its robust framework while improving its power systems and weapon interfaces for Astartes use 409.

Its complex manufacture, bulk, and limited output made it rare even during the Great Crusade. Surviving suits became Chapter relics after the Imperium lost the ability to produce them 402 408.

Chen Xi redeems its STC and more than a dozen unpainted suits to establish production and strengthen relations with participating Chapters. By the time Hathor reorganizes Rostov's industrial and trade arrangements, the Rostov III production line is operating, and its armour is being exchanged for strategic materials 402 487.
