Background

Lu Changqing is a transmigrator who awakened as an Innate Enlightenment Tree on Wuji Peak. Initially frustrated that the Saint positions appeared unavailable to him, he bound the Great Dao Prodigal System, which immediately granted him one hundred trillion Merit and required him to spend it. 1

His early travels established the pattern of his influence. After Houtu and Xing Tian rescued him from the Demon Clan general Che Qi, Lu Changqing rewarded Houtu with Merit; the gift enabled her to cultivate a Primordial Spirit and began their long association. 1 6

Lu Changqing turned Wuji Heaven into a center for trading spiritual treasures for Merit. His extravagant compensation attracted Kunpeng, East King Duke, Daoist Randeng, and vast numbers of rogue cultivators, converting what began as a personal residence into a powerful faction. 6 7

Pangu's remnant consciousness later granted Lu Changqing ultimate inheritances, the authority to command the Witch Clan, and the Primordial World Suppressing Heaven Seal. Though he initially refused the title, he ultimately accepted the position of Witch Clan Venerable. 49 63 64

Personality

Lu Changqing is openly obsessed with exhausting his immense Merit reserves. He views Merit not as a prize, but as an unwanted burden imposed by the System; this drives his lavish exchanges, wages, rewards, public projects, and attempts to make others spend on his behalf. 2 38 100 217

Despite this motive, he insists on fair dealings. When Ming He offered the Twelve-grade Karma Red Lotus, Lu Changqing reprimanded him for suggesting a gift and paid ten million Merit instead. 60 He also repeatedly redirects massive Merit gains toward all living beings, such as turning Heavenly Dao Merit into nourishing rain rather than keeping it for himself. 52 221

He is relaxed and playful when unchallenged, spending long periods playing Mahjong, Go, cards, and Dou Dizhu with his companions. 41 84 Conversely, he is blunt and punitive toward subordinates who test his patience, particularly Kong Xuan and Ming He. 41 92

Lu Changqing is shrewd toward the System. He treats its tasks and rewards as traps to be exploited, even demanding a formal contract and adding his own interpretive clause before accepting a mission. 95 111
