History

Exile to Midgard

Thor's attack on the Frost Giants and defiance of Odin create a rift between father and son. Believing Thor reckless and unready for the coming Ragnarök, Odin casts him to Earth without his divine power. 70

He lands in New Mexico near Jane Foster's research team, is hit by Najia's RV, and is later stunned by Darcy after declaring himself the God of Thunder. He initially treats the people of Midgard as weak and insignificant, but his mortal condition leaves him unable to command the respect he expects. 69

Thor escapes the hospital and searches for Mjolnir, only to find that he cannot lift it. While his physical toughness gradually returns, he is still unable to overcome S.H.I.E.L.D.'s armed agents or reclaim his hammer. 71 73

Loki's invasion

When Loki brings the Destroyer armor and an army of Frost Giants to Earth, Thor warns Ron to flee, believing that even he cannot face the invasion alone. Ron instead uses Thor as a projectile against Loki, then defeats the Destroyer and captures Loki. 74

Thor's divine power is restored after Loki seemingly kills him. He returns in armor with Mjolnir and lightning at his command, but Ron has already defeated Loki. Thor later apologizes to Ron for Loki's actions and acknowledges him as a protector of Earth. 74 76

Odin's decline and Asgardian rule

Thor returns to Asgard to find Odin near death. Odin reveals that Thor must protect Asgard through Ragnarök and that the Odin Force will eventually pass to him. 77

During Odin's final sleep, Thor suppresses rebellions across the Nine Realms alongside Sif and the Warriors Three. His modified pink Mjolnir becomes a source of ridicule, leading him to temporarily use Gungnir instead. 85
