Arc 9The Plantem Offensive

The Death Seekers, Ogryns, and Space Marines fought off a Norn Emissary and pushed into Tyranid territory, where they discovered Plantem’s ecosystem was changing. As Calgar’s fleet arrived, Robert secured unified command for the war, and Reinhard began assessing how Death Seekers fought alongside Space Marines.

  • The Death Seekers summoned Father of Rain, who devastated the Tyranids before the Black Curtain weakened him and a Norn Emissary killed him and the Players.
  • Ego gathered three thousand Ogryns to join Huron, Agman, and Sicarius, and their combined forces detonated a nuclear bomb beneath the Norn Emissary before killing it at great cost.
  • The Tyranids dug forward through trenches and overwhelmed several Death Seeker positions, prompting Agman to lead a large strike force into their territory.
  • Agman’s force fought through a living Tyranid garden, then retreated after discovering strange flesh growths on fallen Space Marines and losing many Death Seekers who covered the withdrawal.
  • Calgar’s fleet defeated the Tyranid ships around Plantem, while Robert warned that the enemy’s crippled vessels were deliberately falling onto the planet.
  • Robert proposed a unified command for the assembled Chapters and mortal forces, and the conference approved his plan after he answered the Munitorum bureaucrat’s objections.
  • Sergeant Reinhard Roberts joined BUG’s Death Seeker squad to coordinate their operations, but the squad ignored his planned tactics and charged the Tyranids.
  • Reinhard’s squad returned with a Tyranid Warrior’s head, blocked his test strike against BUG, and celebrated their completed mission as Reinhard recorded his observations.

Arc 10The Death Seekers’ Offensive

Reinhard and the Death Seekers endured the Tyranid assault, helped unite the Space Marine Chapters, and joined a major armored offensive. Regan Montoya later took command of the Death Seekers’ regiment and began working with Celine’s regiment as Tyranids attacked their camp.

  • Reinhard and Bug fought off Tyranid Warriors and a Lictor, but Bug died protecting Reinhard, who later arranged a special Lasgun for Bug’s reformed squad.
  • Bug proposed using searchlights against the spore-shrouded Tyranids, and the Death Seekers used them to disrupt the swarm’s attacks on their hilltop defenses.
  • The Space Marines struck at the Tyranids’ artillery and synapse creature while a Death Seeker sacrificed himself with a nuclear bomb to help them escape.
  • Marneus Calgar recognized that the Death Seekers’ sacrifices had brought the Chapters closer together, while the High Lords sent an inspection delegation to oversee them.
  • Bug and Reinhard led the Death Seekers into an armored offensive that broke through to the Tyranid main force, where a Warlord Titan joined the battle.
  • Regan Montoya arrived to oversee the Death Seekers, learned about their unusual camp life, and ordered them to burn Tyranid growths in areas cleared by the main force.
  • Regan welcomed Zhang Xiuwen’s 266th Regiment and learned from Celine that Zhang and his officers excluded her from authority.
  • Tyranid Gargoyles attacked Celine’s command vehicle, and after she and the cook killed them, Celine went to headquarters as alarms sounded across the camp.

Arc 11From Plantem to Orpheus

The Imperium defeated the Tyranids on Plantem, but the victory was followed by a Necron threat tied to the Karrakur Twin Stars. Robert urged Calgar to prepare for a costly war in Orpheus, and Calgar ordered a full mobilization and attacks on Necron leaders.

  • Calgar promised Governor Robert of Pedetia Ultramar’s help rebuilding, while Robert warned him to make sure the composer had something to praise.
  • The Tyranids counterattacked on Plantem, and Reinhard led Bug and the Death Seekers through the fighting before Sicarius planned a deep strike against a Tyranid breeding ground.
  • Sicarius’s raid and the Death Seekers’ planet-wide counteroffensive overwhelmed the Tyranids, and an orbital strike destroyed the emerging Hive Lord.
  • After the victory, Sage Takk estimated Plantem would need two hundred years to recover unless it was cleansed with Promethium, while Robert said Pedetia needed no such treatment.
  • Bit projected an avatar into the human universe, and a silver Necron appeared before Calgar to warn that the Karrakur Twin Stars’ supernova would awaken the Menak Dynasty.
  • Robert told Calgar that his prophecy had placed the Necron awakening later and advised evacuating Orpheus, declaring Exterminatus, and building defenses in Eurydice.
  • Calgar rejected Robert’s proposed campaign losses, then ordered full mobilization and attacks on Necron leaders with orbital drop pods, Boarding Torpedoes, and Thunderhawk Gunships.

Arc 12Amara’s Purge

Robert took control of Orpheus as the Death Seekers prepared Amara Prime for the Necron threat and purged the planet’s nobles and brutal overseers. After Calgar arrived, Flying Eagle led a force into the Underhive, where they confronted a Slaanesh daemon and then set out to find Ecclesiarchy support against the remaining Chaos threat.

  • Langen’s nightmares and fear of a newly appeared Xenos brought Robert to Amara Prime, where Robert killed Langen and took control of Orpheus’s defenses.
  • Robert and the Death Seekers distributed food in the starving Mid-hive while Players and Krieg troops built hazardous underground defenses and routes against the approaching Necrons.
  • Ghost Face rescued a wounded Krieg soldier and later gained Robert’s permission not to obstruct action against Amara’s nobles, then killed the nobles at a banquet and helped expose the factory’s abuses.
  • Calgar arrived on Amara Prime, and Robert warned him that the Death Seekers could not govern the hive or locate Chaos’s stronghold without help.
  • Flying Eagle led Death Seekers and Star Claws Space Marines into the Underhive, where a talking corpse pointed them toward nearby cults and the Space Marines burned the corpse mound.
  • The force entered a Slaanesh cult’s lair, where the Claws of the Stars fell under an illusion and the Death Seekers faced a daemon that their weapons could barely harm.
  • A Death Seeker’s explosives wounded the daemon and broke the illusion, allowing the Claws of the Stars to banish it before agreeing to seek the Ecclesiarchy church for allies and intelligence.
