The Underworld Serpent plunged underground, its form fully unfurling.

Nidhogg reverted to a massive black coiling shadow, slowly shifting across the earth.

What the Underworld Serpent feared most was the sun. Beneath the sun, the Underworld Serpent became incomparably weak, even turning into a black stone statue, unable to move. So there were not many places it could actually go; at least in the Mist Country, it could still move around.

Only in darkness could the Underworld Serpent recover its strongest state.

Nidhogg saw an ice sculpture standing there. It had an enormous pitch-black body, with unfurled Dragon Wings growing from its powerful back.

That was its former body.

It had long since been pierced through by tree roots and turned into nourishment for the root system.

Nidhogg smashed headfirst through its own remains. Behind them, the main trunk of the tree roots gradually formed into a wooden giant seated on a throne.

He wore an Eagle Helmet, golden armor draped over him, with one eye and a long beard.

The wooden giant propped his cheek on one hand and looked down coldly at the Underworld Serpent.
