Background

Isabelle was originally connected to Isabelle Serolley, a native of the Rose Kingdom who was known publicly as the gentle Forest Witch and secretly as the feared blindfolded Black-Clad Witch. She deliberately maintained both personas, believing beauty required ugliness as contrast and peace required fear to be valued. 106

After the Rose Kingdom was destroyed by the Dark God, the Forest Witch obtained the Godhead of the Embankment Builder and became a god. Captured and imprisoned in the Black Abyss, she separated herself into Godhead, Divinity, and Divine Body in an attempt at resurrection. Isabelle is the resulting Divine Body. 106 125

She later emerged from a stone coffin with no memories and pledged her loyalty to Lu Yao, becoming his first Apostle. Her temple and existence were part of the Forest God's planned revival mechanism, though Lu Yao did not choose the path that would have restored the Forest God. 12 1119
