Background & History

The Human Race was created by Nuwa, who used Nine Heavens Breathing Soil as its foundation, her own Essence Blood as its substance, and Three Lights Divine Water as its catalyst. After giving the clay figures consciousness through the Dao of Creation, she named the new beings humans. As their Saint Mother, Nuwa later designated a territory in which they could multiply in safety for ten thousand years. 106 109

Humanity initially lived in scattered tribes along the East Sea Shore. Its first great leaders were Suiren Shi, who taught fire-making; Youchao Shi, who taught the construction of shelters; and Ziyi Shi, who taught clothing from hides and leaves. Their contributions allowed humanity to endure cold, beasts, and hunger, and they became revered as the Three Great Human Progenitors. 134

Taishang entered human territory after his Primordial Violet Qi reacted to the race's presence. He observed humanity's intelligence and taught the simplified Golden Core Great Dao, including breathing methods, moral conduct, and bodily cultivation. After realizing that humanity needed more than techniques—a shared doctrine, education, faith, and inheritance—he established the Human Religion and attained sainthood through humanity's Fortune. 134 137 139 140

Niu Ben's guidance helped Taishang recognize humanity's need for a spiritual foundation. Niu Ben later created a Martial Dao Technique specifically suited to human cultivation, freeing humanity from reliance on the demanding Golden Core Great Dao alone. During the Five Emperors era, Zhuanxu unified the Hundred Nations and established laws, while Shun established the Nine Provinces and redistributed water resources during a period of drought. Humanity's sages later answered another summons from Hongjun to fight Outer Domain enemies. Against the Xuanhuang Realm, the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors formed a Human Path formation to resist multiple Quasi-Saints, while Huang Tian, Cangjie, and the Three Ancestors reinforced them. 545 552

Human civilization continued through successive dynasties. Cheng Tang established the Shang Dynasty with its capital at Bo, proclaimed the end of Xia's mandate, and promoted rites, music, farming, and sericulture while abolishing human sacrifice. 565

When humanity obtained Primordial Violet Qi, its leaders rejected the simple path of producing a Heavenly Dao Saint. Instead, Huang Tian and the ancient sages chose to establish the Human Path: a Dao founded on humanity's own fire, dwellings, clothing, farming, writing, governance, and collective refusal to submit. The decision followed deliberations in which the Three Ancestors declined to pursue the Saint position for themselves, prioritizing humanity's continuing inheritance and harmony. Fuxi likewise declined because his old karmic ties to the Demon Race could complicate the position of humanity's first Saint. Huang Tian was prepared to forsake conventional sainthood rather than accept a future in which he could not defend humanity against the Heavenly Dao's demands. 629 630 631

After its Fortune fully converged, Huang Tian received Niu Ben's agreement to safeguard humanity's endeavor. The Human Race then issued a Human Emperor Decree declaring that, after one hundred years, Huang Tian would establish the Human Path with Primordial Violet Qi as its foundation. 641 643

A century later, Huang Tian used Primordial Violet Qi as the foundation to establish the Human Path. The Heavenly Dao responded with Chaos Divine Thunder, but the Three Ancestors, Three Sovereigns, and Five Emperors resisted together; Nuwa and Taishang each intervened, and Niu Ben destroyed the final Dutian Divine Thunder. Humanity later intervened in Yang Jian's attempt to rescue his mother. Under the Holy Emperor's command, Xuanyuan arrived with an elite human army during the battle against the Heavenly Court and Western Teachings.
