Background
Di Jun is a Three-legged Golden Crow and the elder brother of Emperor Taiyi. Together, the brothers led the Demon Race from the Demon Heavenly Court, treating the race's fortune, territory, and eventual dominance over the Primordial World as central goals 37 220.
He sought powerful allies rather than relying solely on Demon Race strength. Di Jun personally visited Kunlun Mountain to recruit the Three Pure Ones, offering equal status and a share of Demon Race fortune; after Taishang refused, he attempted to recruit Niu Ben as a Demon God 40. Once Niu Ben's position as Taishang's first disciple became known, Di Jun escalated the offer to the title of third Demon Emperor in exchange for the Ox Clan's allegiance 99.
Appearance
Di Jun commonly manifests as an imposing imperial figure in ceremonial robes and a sun-disc crown. His eyes resemble miniature suns, while True Sun Fire surrounds him and a ten-thousand-zhang Three-legged Golden Crow Dharma form looms behind him 440.
- Imperial robes and sun-disc crown 440
- Majestic, sun-like eyes 440
- True Sun Fire aura 440
- Three-legged Golden Crow Dharma form 440
- Can transform into a colossal Great Sun Golden Crow in battle 550
Personality
Di Jun is calculating in diplomacy and prefers to keep failed recruitment attempts private; he concealed his aura while approaching potential allies so refusals would not diminish the Demon Heavenly Court's standing 41. He repeatedly sought alliances with the Three Pure Ones, the Ox Clan, and the Western Teachings when they could improve the Demon Race's strategic position 40 444 388.
His ambition is paired with a long memory for humiliation. Niu Ben's protection of Xi He, interference in Demon Race campaigns, and later defeat of Di Jun became lasting sources of resentment 246 459. Di Jun also turned against Kunpeng after believing the Demon Master had exploited the River Diagram and Luo Script to claim merit that should have belonged to the Demon Emperor 311.
