Uchiha Clan Extermination

On the night of the clan extermination, Yuan reveals that the supposedly ordinary clerk has awakened a unique Mangekyō Sharingan. His abilities reinforce Obito's eye and initiate the “nuclear peace” catastrophe, placing a destructive planet on course for the Shinobi World. 1 3 4

After Yuan dies, Obito removes his Mangekyō eyes and attempts to contain their curse-like malice with White Zetsu cells. 4

Spread of the Sharingan Curse

Yuan's eyes influence Obito, Danzō, and other Sharingan users through wishes, words, and mental corruption. Itachi identifies the technique as a Word Spirit-like power that can affect both human choices and Mangekyō ocular power. 10 21 29

Danzō responds to the looming crisis by having Orochimaru transplant all available Sharingan into his body, ultimately carrying over twenty eyes. 18 19

Konoha Archive Investigation

Tobirama, Hiashi, and the Kurama Clan Head investigate the final ten preserved Sharingan in Konoha's archive, including Yuan's grandfather's pair. The eyes awaken, form a chakra network, and kill the Kurama Clan Head through a genjutsu backlash. 57 58

The victim's final scroll depicts a sinister Sharingan on a moon, a dead tree covered in Sharingan-marked cocoons, and the message: “By your wish, I descend upon this world.” 59

Attempts to Counter Yuan

Itachi proposes using Shisui's Sharingan and Izanami to correct Yuan's twisted dream, while Tobirama instead considers destroying Mangekyō Sharingan to deprive Yuan of the means to act. 64

Izanami fails to break Yuan's influence and leaves Shisui's eye closed. Obito subsequently implants the eye into Itachi's forehead through Withered Wood Style, restoring it as a one-tomoe third Sharingan. 65 66
