Waiting For Rorschach

"Charles, what's wrong?"

Erik walked up to Charles and asked with a puzzled tone.

"Moira's here."

Charles said to Erik and Rorschach, having already sensed Moira's arrival.

Erik's expression turned serious.

Since Moira was here, it meant the CIA had reached a conclusion.

The few of them exchanged glances, and without any wasted words, they went to the door together and brought Moira into Charles's room.

"As we expected, the CIA has disbanded our unit. From now on, you and the CIA will have no further connection."

After everyone was seated, Moira said to them with a grave expression.

This outcome did not surprise anyone.

The CIA had indeed abandoned them.

"Fine!" Erik shrugged. "This changes nothing, and besides, we never needed the CIA anyway."

"And you?"

Charles asked, his eyes fixed on Moira.

During his time working with Moira at the CIA, Charles had developed feelings for her that went beyond friendship.

"They said it was because of my suggestion that the CIA suffered such losses, so now... I've been suspended."

Moira deliberately used a light tone, but she couldn't quite hide her disappointment.

"Blaming someone when things go wrong, that's just their usual style," Charles said indignantly on Moira's behalf.

However, even so, there was nothing they could do about it now.

"Enough about that. So~ what are your plans now?"

Moira clapped her hands, changing the subject, and looked at them.

"Actually, we're planning something big. We're planning to give Shaw a surprise," Charles said with a meaningful smile.

Then he told Moira their plans.

After listening, Moira immediately expressed her desire to join them.

Even though the CIA had suspended her, it couldn't deter Moira from continuing her investigation into Shaw.

Before, she had worried about being alone and unable to cope, but now, her worries were unnecessary.

With Charles and the others, many things would become much simpler.

"Well,"

Charles's smile grew even wider. "Moira, welcome aboard!"

Although Erik had always held a strong prejudice against ordinary people, he trusted Moira completely and didn't raise any objections.

The other mutants, Mystique Raven and Beast Hank, also expressed their warm welcome to Moira after learning about this.

From then on, Moira took on the role of Charles's assistant, helping him train the young mutants.

Of course, Rorschach did not undergo Charles's special training because Rorschach was the only one who had perfectly mastered his abilities.

Even if Charles wanted to teach him, there was nothing he could teach.

While others were being put through the wringer by Charles, Rorschach trained by himself in the gym.

This was a privilege even Erik didn't have, as even Erik was being trained by Charles.

Life at Xavier's Manor became vibrant and bustling.

Regardless of their abilities, Charles could devise corresponding training strategies for all mutants, achieving very significant results.

The nickname "Professor X" that Mystique Raven coined was incredibly fitting; no one understood the X-gene better than Charles.

In just ten days, the mutants participating in the special training showed significant progress.

Although there was still a gap before they could master their abilities or reach combat readiness, compared to before, they could be described as "completely transformed."

Charles and Erik saw this and felt very gratified.

Everything was moving in a positive direction.

"Charles!"

Rorschach appeared while Magneto was training on the field.

Charles and Magneto both stopped and looked over.

"Rorschach, it's rare to see you venture out today,"

Magneto began to tease.

For quite some time now, Rorschach had been locking himself in the training room every day, to the point where he was practically invisible.

"Let me see how your training has been going," Rorschach said with a smile, teasing.

During this period, he had become very familiar with Charles and Erik, and unlike before, their relationship was now completely on equal footing.

This was why Rorschach spoke so casually.

"Then you've picked a terrible time. I haven't reached the point where I can surprise you yet," Erik spread his hands.

"In fact, Erik's abilities have already been developed to a great extent, so it's a bit more difficult for him to improve further compared to others," Charles explained to Rorschach from the side.

This was natural. Erik had spent most of his life hunting Shaw alone, and his control over his own abilities was not something other younger mutants could compare to.

"Alright Charles, I have to go. It's almost time," Rorschach said seriously to Charles and Erik after some small talk.

Last time at S.H.I.E.L.D., Howard Stark had mentioned inviting Rorschach over for a casual meal. Rorschach had initially thought the playboy was just saying it, but he hadn't expected him to be serious.

Howard Stark had actually sent Rorschach a formal invitation.

Developing connections with someone as wealthy, powerful, and influential as Howard Stark, Rorschach couldn't find any reason to refuse, so he agreed.

Naturally, Charles and Erik had no objections to this.

They were just like-minded friends with Rorschach, not his parents.

They wouldn't pry into Rorschach's personal life, as long as he didn't affect everyone else.

And Rorschach himself was precisely the person Charles and Erik trusted the most.

"Rorschach, do you need a ride? You can take my car," Charles offered from the side.

"Thanks, Charles, maybe next time!"

Rorschach waved his hand, declining Charles's kind offer. He had a car picking him up for this appointment.

After leaving Xavier's Manor, Rorschach once again arrived at 75th Street in New York, the same street where he had parted ways with Jarvis before.

Jarvis was already waiting for Rorschach there.

However, what Jarvis would never know was that he wasn't the only one waiting for Rorschach!
