Background / History

Theresa encounters Xia Ling during Yunna’s attack on the Chiyu Academy training grounds. Though Xia Ling arrives under a false identity, Theresa instinctively prioritizes the injured girl’s safety, offering Judas’ Vow as protection and fighting beside her against Yunna. Xia Ling ultimately forces Theresa into the cross to keep her safe, leaving Theresa guilty for trying to sacrifice herself. 7

After learning that Xia Ling is a traveler from another world, Theresa offers her a position and home at St. Freya Academy despite Himeko’s concerns about the coincidences surrounding her arrival. Theresa acknowledges the risks but relies on her own experience and knowledge to judge Xia Ling’s character. 8 9
