Background / History

Flame Willow is another self of Xia Ling, with whom she shares thoughts, experiences, and an empathic connection. Following her Elite Phase 2 enhancement, she explains that her apparent fire abilities are actually manifestations of Honkai Energy activation rather than conventional flames. 16

In Changkong City, Flame Willow secretly protected Little Kong and Lyle from Honkai Beasts without revealing herself. Raven discovered her surveillance, then accepted Flame Willow's request for a friendly spar. Flame Willow won by luring Raven into close range and igniting the Honkai Energy within Raven's body. 18 19

She subsequently entered the system's simulated Elysian Realm trials. She cleared the Safe-difficulty trial against Elysia only because Elysia deliberately allowed the final damage to finish her, then failed the Normal-difficulty Serpent trial after her Honkai Energy was drained. 26 27

During the final Elysian Realm trial, Flame Willow endured modified stages, deceived Fu Hua by mixing truth with deception, and was eventually forced into a life-burning battle against Chijie on the eighteenth floor. She died in the trial and revived in the system space, while Elysia initially believed she had truly died. 42 44 45

Raven later employed her as “Sister Reed Grass,” entrusting her with the safety and well-being of the children in the nest. 30

Flame Willow travelled to London under a false identity, where she reunited with Anna Saniyat and avoided Raven to preserve her cover. Her connection with both women later became increasingly complicated: Raven became openly assertive toward her, while Anna began recognizing romantic feelings for Flame Willow. 47 48 86 87
