Background

Gen'ichi created the Jōgan through experiments involving Iroha's Main Family Byakugan and the integrated remains of Toneri's father, an Ōtsutsuki descendant from the Moon. The procedure dramatically increased Iroha's vitality and chakra while transforming his right eye beyond the Byakugan's limits 235.

The eye was first termed the Jingyan following its tentative evolution. Once Iroha's body became sufficiently integrated with the Ōtsutsuki fragments, he could activate its completed form, the Jōgan 235 244.

Soon after acquiring it, Iroha used the Jōgan's perception to locate the chakra networks of the Caged Bird Technique within his own brain. By severing a connected chakra network, he rendered the seal unable to fully control or kill him, though it could still affect him if activated by the Hyūga Main Family 235.

Appearance

During its initial evolution, Iroha's right eye becomes swollen as its sclera changes from white to grayish-white and the pupil develops additional coloration. Its complete activated appearance is not further detailed, but it releases dōjutsu power comparable to the Mangekyō Sharingan 235 244.
