Background / History
Li Tianwei transmigrated into the Cultivation World convinced that he was its protagonist. When the System identified him as possessing a Pseudo-Spirit Root, he rejected the claim outright and refused its contract, maintaining that he must possess a Heavenly Spirit Root. His extreme self-belief let him resist the pressure of the Heart-Questioning Stairway and become the first person in Lingxu Sacred Land’s history to reach its summit in generations 1 7.
Although the Spirit Testing Stone proclaimed him a Heavenly Spirit Root, the System and Li Tianchen’s remnant-soul companion both confirmed that he was actually a Pseudo-Spirit Root 2. A medicinal pill later concealed his five-colored Pseudo-Spirit Root and made it appear to be a Pure Yang Heavenly Spirit Root 5. He joined Tianmen Peak under Bai Muxu, who challenged him to establish his foundation within one hundred days 8 9.
Unable to attract Spiritual Energy through orthodox methods, Li Tianwei developed the Fission Qi Gathering Method by combining cultivation theory with ideas from his previous world. The dangerous method damaged his body, but its interaction with healing resources led him to condense the Sacrifice Dao Undying Body 11 13 14. He completed Foundation Establishment in one hundred days despite his Pseudo-Spirit Root 18 19.
After encountering corruption, Demonic Entities, and widespread abuse of mortals by cultivators, Li Tianwei adopted “purging everything” as his mission. He used his Sacred Soul Banner to capture and refine wrongdoers, while repeatedly framing these acts as opportunities for their reform and atonement 29 67 70. His methods, power, and refusal to conceal his demonic aura made him a feared but increasingly influential figure within Lingxu Sacred Land 74.
Following his rise through Golden Core and Nascent Soul, Li Tianwei reformed Lingxu Sacred Land, removed barriers between inner and outer disciples, rebuilt the Heart-Questioning Stairway to help people discover their paths, and sought to make cultivation accessible regardless of Spirit Root aptitude 147 148. He later created True Cultivation, a path based on self-awareness, emotion, and understanding rather than inherited Spirit Roots 209 211.
Appearance
Li Tianwei is described as handsome and jade-like, with an outwardly composed and immortal-like bearing that often conceals his extreme confidence 1.
- A three-leaf round fan emblem appears between his brows when he manifests power.
- His revised Extreme Good Lead Hua Scripture can produce a halo, pure radiance, and an aura of solemn compassion 77.
- His visible Spirit Root is a dim, mixed-color Pseudo-Spirit Root, despite his insistence that it is a Five-Colored Heavenly Spirit Root 24 344.
- His Golden Core and Dao Intent manifestations can surround him with destructive, holy, or five-colored phenomena 23 367.
Personality
Li Tianwei possesses overwhelming self-confidence and sincerely believes himself to be a naturally born protagonist. He interprets setbacks, enemy ambushes, and world-threatening crises as proof that destiny has assigned him a grand role 1 29 172. This conviction makes him unusually calm under pressure, but also causes him to ignore warnings from the System and misread danger as an expected protagonist trial.
He is innovative, analytical, and unwilling to accept conventional limits. Rather than accepting that Pseudo-Spirit Roots cannot cultivate effectively, he invents methods to force Spiritual Energy into his body, studies the principles behind Spirit Roots, and creates an alternative cultivation system for all people 11 202 209.
Li Tianwei considers himself deeply benevolent. He opposes cultivators exploiting mortals, seeks to reform corrupt institutions, and insists that all beings deserve the opportunity to cultivate. However, his idea of reform frequently involves forcibly purifying, controlling, refining, or imprisoning those he judges evil 77 146 204.
