Background / History
Lingxu Sacred Land is a major righteous cultivation power in the Northern Spirit Domain. For centuries, it produced exceptional talent and was regarded as the domain's foremost Sacred Land, particularly because of Bai Muxu's rapid rise to Spirit Transformation. Its increasing strength caused the other three Great Sacred Lands—Baiyuan, Qinglan, and Yincang—to view it as a potential sole hegemon. 24
The Sacred Land governs hundreds of great nations across tens of millions of square kilometers. Its traditional administration relied on dispatching disciples as local representatives; disciples who failed to reach Foundation Establishment within twenty years could be assigned to cities in its territories. This system left many regions poorly supervised and vulnerable to corruption. 100
Its higher realms were heavily affected by the Evil Demons' blockade and changes in heaven and earth. Cultivators above Spirit Severing faced anomalies, while many powerful ancestors remained sealed or in seclusion to avoid chaos. Tianmen Peak was established in part to investigate the source of these advancement problems through Bai Muxu's breakthroughs. 90
Li Tianwei's arrival fundamentally changed the Sacred Land. He entered as a Heavenly Spirit Root disciple, joined Tianmen Peak, achieved Foundation Establishment in one hundred days, and eventually received the Sacred Land's highest authority. 2 7 346 After confronting entrenched corruption among its ancestors and stationed personnel, he declared his intention to create a “new Lingxu Sacred Land.” 133
The Sacred Land survived a coordinated invasion by the Haoran Righteous Alliance and the other three Great Sacred Lands. Despite its protective formation being breached, Li Tianwei's contingencies, including the Sacred Soul Banner's Body Integration evil souls and a new grand formation, prevented its destruction. 161 162
Afterward, Lingxu Sacred Land launched expeditions against Qinglan, Yincang, and Baiyuan Sacred Lands. With the fall of Yincang and the collapse or evacuation of the others, the era of the Four Great Sacred Lands ended; Lingxu Sacred Land became responsible for administering the unified Northern Spirit Realm. 174 203
Organization and Authority
| Position / Body | Role |
|---|---|
| Lingxu Holy Master / Sovereign | Formal leader of the Sacred Land; coordinates defense, resources, elders, and later the administration of the unified realm. |
| Ancestors | High-level cultivators, including Body Integration and Tribulation Transcendence experts; some were sealed in the Sacred Land's depths before Li Tianwei's reforms. |
| Twelve Peaks | Major internal branches led by peak masters; Tianmen Peak is Bai Muxu's peak. 338 |
| First Seat Great Disciple | Position granted to Li Tianwei, giving him access to the Sacred Land's highest authority and resources. 97 |
| Stationed representatives | Disciples assigned to govern or guard territories under Lingxu Sacred Land's jurisdiction. 100 |
Li Tianwei's five-colored spiritual aura grants authority over Lingxu Sacred Land's formations and resources. It allows him to borrow power from the Nine Profound Extreme Heaven Seal, and the guardian formation can protect him even against Body Integration Realm opponents. 347
Locations and Facilities
Heart-Questioning Stairway
The Heart-Questioning Stairway stands at the Sacred Land's entrance, rising nearly a thousand mist-shrouded steps toward the summit. It was left behind by an ancestor who had ascended after passing immortal tribulation. 4 148
Before its remolding, advancement on the stairway determined a recruit's standing:
| Steps Reached | Result |
|---|---|
| 100 | Outer Sect entry |
| 300 | Inner Sect entry |
| 500 | Core Disciple status |
| 800 | Personal Disciple status |
| 1,000 | Highest recorded achievement; only two people had reached it, and both ascended |
Li Tianwei later remolded the artifact with his Dao Intent and knowledge from two realms. It ceased to judge people primarily by aptitude and instead helped disciples discern their own hearts, talents, and paths. 148
Tianmen Peak
Tianmen Peak is Bai Muxu's branch within Lingxu Sacred Land and Li Tianwei's place of cultivation. It was built to support research into the cultivation blockage affecting higher realms and to help Bai Muxu pursue breakthroughs. 90
Main Peak and Main Hall
The main peak serves as the administrative center, where the Holy Master, elders, and ancestors convene. It houses the Nine Profound Extreme Heaven Seal and is the location from which major orders are transmitted. 131 369
Ancestors' Seclusion Grounds
Deep within the Sacred Land lies a desolate mountain range supplied by diverted spiritual veins for powerful cultivators in seclusion. The area has been overexploited by sealed ancestors and tribulation activity, leaving it rich in spiritual energy but poor in spiritual plants. 153
Defenses and Resources
- Sect-Protecting Great Formation — A formation capable of resisting the combined force of several Tribulation Transcendence cultivators, though it requires roughly eight Body Integration elders to sustain at full effectiveness. 160
- Nine Profound Extreme Heaven Seal — Sacred Land authority artifact linked to the five-colored spiritual aura and its formations. 347
- Heart-Questioning Stairway — An ascended ancestor's legacy, later transformed into a path-guidance artifact for all disciples. 148
- Teleportation arrays — Lingxu Sacred Land maintained arrays in the territories of the other Great Sacred Lands, enabling its later campaigns. 174
- Flying ships — Used to transport recruits and later planned for broad territorial connectivity. 4 150
- Spirit Light Wheel — A magical treasure associated with Bai Muxu and Li Tianwei; its Book Spirit activated Li Tianwei's defensive grand formation during the invasion. 38 162
Reforms Under Li Tianwei
- Expanded spirit-root recruitment to accept anyone with a Spirit Root, including those with Pseudo-Spirit Roots. 147
- Ordered the construction of teleportation arrays and flying ships throughout Lingxu territory to strengthen oversight and mobility. 147 150
- Recalled old stationed representatives and assigned disciples who had attended his lectures as replacements. 150
- Rebuilt the Heart-Questioning Stairway to guide disciples toward suitable paths rather than rank them solely by aptitude. 148
- Used the Extreme Good Lead Hua Scripture to heal wounded elders and disciples after the Sacred Land's war, including restoring some whose bodies had perished but whose divine souls remained. 173
- Exposed and punished undercover agents within the Sacred Land through forced confession and “guidance” into the Sacred Soul Banner. 369
- Recalled elders and patriarchs from travel and seclusion to help govern the unified Northern Spirit Realm. 203
Major Conflicts
Rivalry with Baiyuan Sacred Land
Baiyuan Sacred Land dispatched representatives to Lingxu Sacred Land for a competition between disciples who had achieved Foundation Establishment in one hundred days. The event was publicly framed as an exchange, though Baiyuan's Xiao E intended to use Yuan Xixiao to provoke Li Tianwei's Corrupting Grudge Qi. 30 31
Internal Purge and Succession Crisis
After Li Tianwei's actions in Xiling City and Jing'an City, Lingxu's Body Integration ancestors confronted him. He openly challenged their authority and announced plans to establish a new Lingxu Sacred Land, splitting the leadership between supporters and opponents. 131 133
Haoran Righteous Alliance Invasion
More than two hundred local sects formed the Haoran Righteous Alliance in opposition to Lingxu Sacred Land's reforms. They were supported in secret by the other Sacred Lands and Demonic Entities. 150
The Alliance and the three Sacred Lands attacked while Lingxu was weakened by chaos among its Tribulation Transcendence ancestors. Lingxu's grand formation eventually failed, but Li Tianwei's preparations and return reversed the battle. 158 161 162
Conquest of the Other Sacred Lands
Following the invasion, the Lingxu Holy Master assembled an expeditionary force under Li Tianwei. It included Venerable Tiangang, other Tribulation Transcendence ancestors, and Body Integration experts. 174
Lingxu Sacred Land attacked Qinglan Sacred Land through its teleportation arrays, later moved against Baiyuan, and ultimately ended the Four Great Sacred Lands' regional order. 175 186 203
