Background / History

Robin survived the destruction of Ohara, an event carried out through a Buster Call. Aokiji’s momentary leniency allowed her to escape, but she spent the following years fleeing the World Government and enduring repeated betrayals. The experience taught her to conceal her feelings and keep others at a distance. 44

Her ability to read Poneglyphs made her indispensable to Crocodile’s Baroque Works organization. Robin regarded her arrangement with Crocodile as mutual exploitation rather than loyalty; while serving as Miss Allsunday, she secretly investigated Reno and withheld information that could have aided Crocodile. 43 45

Reno confronted Robin with his knowledge of Ohara, her identity as the Devil Child, and her dream of uncovering the missing history. He offered her protection, support in locating Poneglyphs, and the news that Saulo was alive in Elbaf. Moved by the offer of belonging and a shared purpose, Robin agreed to join the Reno Pirates. 44

After openly leaving Baroque Works, Robin witnessed Reno kill Crocodile. With Crocodile’s death, she felt released from her fears and began showing a more genuine side of herself. 45 46
