Background / History

Diana is Hippolyta's daughter and an Amazon princess of Themyscira. As a child, she secretly encountered island witches conducting a ritual; they abducted her into golden mist and imprinted a crescent-moon mark on her forehead. This connection later made her a target and vessel for Hecate, the Witch Mother. 184 275

When Jino arrived on Themyscira during World War I, Diana intervened when an Amazon general attempted to kill him. Curious about the human world and troubled by Jino's account of the war's casualties, she concluded that Ares was likely responsible and resolved to stop him.
