Asano Kiyoshi exposed the Bakuyō Sword crimes, became Chief Kido Master, and led efforts against the conspiracies threatening Soul Society. After defeating the Ryūtoji Clan and freeing Senna from the Kihon’s influence, he began trying to stabilize their captured world.

Arc 9The Trial at Sōkyoku Hill

Asano Kiyoshi gained Yamamoto’s approval, became the candidate for Chief Kido Master, and used a public trial to challenge noble abuses. After defeating Yoshida Tomoya, he exposed the Bakuyō Sword’s human cost before the gathered crowd.

  • Asano Kiyoshi introduced Nel to Yamamoto, who approved their bond and gave Nel a jade pendant, while Byakuya offered them a new residence.
  • Yamamoto tested Asano Kiyoshi and Nel with his spiritual pressure, then approved them and ordered Asano to become Chief Kido Master.

Arc 10The New Face of Kido

Asano Kiyoshi exposed the crimes behind the Bakuyō Sword affair, brought the accused to public judgment, and rose to lead the Kidō Corps. He began reorganizing the Corps with Nel, confronting its neglectful members and imposing strict rules.

  • Asano Kiyoshi accepted responsibility for the Soul Bodies and promised to find the culprit, while the Captain-Commander and the captains joined him in apologizing to the people.
  • At Yamada Unko’s public trial, Asano Kiyoshi countered false accusations with village records and Reishi Images, then exposed the Grand Inquisitor’s reliance on false intelligence.
  • Kuchiki Ginrei convicted Yamada Unko of murdering 697 civilians, and Asano Kiyoshi helped the crowd stone him to death.

Arc 11The Kasumioji Conspiracy

Asano Kiyoshi reformed the Kidō Corps, helped expose the Kasumioji Clan’s experiments, and was named commander of the campaign against the Ryūtoji Clan. While training to master Bankai, he was declared a threat to Soul Society and fought his way toward Nel, only to be stopped by figures in white haori.

  • Asano Kiyoshi reorganized the Kidō Corps, recruited Naka Tatefuru from the Repentance Palace, and joined Aizen Sosuke and Soi Fon in investigating the Kasumioji Clan.
  • Asano Kiyoshi and Nel fought off the clan’s Death Warriors while Soi Fon and Yoruichi defended other barrier points, and Asano dismantled the Reishi barriers to reveal a hidden passage.

Arc 12The Traitor Extermination

Asano Kiyoshi survived a nightmare in which Nel died, then led the Shinigami through the Dangai to defeat the Ryūtoji Clan and contain the Memory Bead’s threat. After reaching Seventh Class Reiatsu and freeing Senna from the Kihon’s influence, he began trying to stabilize the captured world.

  • Asano Kiyoshi refused to abandon Nel, but Aizen wounded her, and she sacrificed herself after sharing a final kiss with him, and Kiyoshi unleashed his Bankai and killed Aizen before waking from the nightmare beside Nel.
  • Asano Kiyoshi promoted Shūsuke Amagai, reviewed Nel’s reforms, and prepared for the nobles’ rebellion after Mayuri Kurotsuchi exposed their hidden Dangai routes.
  • Asano Kiyoshi revealed that he had learned Bankai and led six captains and around five hundred combatants through the Dangai, where Nel and the Kidō Corps helped the force overcome waves of explosive Kihon.
  • Asano Kiyoshi used his Bankai to destroy the Kihon horde and open a route to the Ryūtenji Clan’s world, then assigned the captains to protect the passage while he pursued the enemy.
  • Asano Kiyoshi and the Shinigami fought the Ryūtoji Clan as Enyū and Yan Long formed a giant from Kihon, trees, and flesh, and Kiyoshi coordinated the captains and Kidō Corps to bring it down.
