History

Fang Tianba's leadership

The Blazing Flame Sect was already one of Qianyuan City's dominant powers when Jiang Dao first learned of it. It taught martial arts, maintained nearly ten thousand regular members, and was reputed to have elite experts among its leader, protectors, and elders 27. Its influence extended through numerous businesses and industries; even Qianyuan City's officials sought its assistance in some matters 29.

Its headquarters occupied a vast compound in the southern part of Qianyuan City. Described as a “city within a city,” the walled headquarters housed roughly seventy percent of the sect's experts 31.

Before Jiang Dao's arrival, two Hall Masters were killed by an unknown non-human entity. Unable to confront the threat, Fang Tianba ordered the investigation abandoned and convened a martial-arts tournament to fill the vacant Hall Master positions 31. The crisis exposed an entrenched internal power struggle: Fang Tianba faced the increasingly ambitious Left Guardian, Guo Linyu, while the Deputy Sect Leader remained neutral 33.

Jiang Dao's takeover

Jiang Dao entered the sect through his relative Yang Xu and demonstrated enough strength to be considered Hall Master material immediately 30. He later became associated with Flying Eagle Hall and gained a reputation for ruthlessness after killing two Hall Masters and massacring Flying Eagle Hall; Fang Tianba chose to treat Jiang Dao's merits and faults as offsetting rather than punish him 46.

Tensions escalated after Jiang Dao killed Guo Linyu, seized his assets, and ignored Fang Tianba's authority 67. Fang Tianba attempted to eliminate him with outside cultivators, but Jiang Dao ultimately killed Fang Tianba and assumed the position of Sect Leader 69 73.

The coup left the sect severely weakened: Fang Tianba, Guo Linyu, many Hall Masters, and Helmsmen were dead, with over seventy percent of its elite personnel killed or injured 73 74. Jiang Dao immediately reassigned the halls, promoted trusted followers such as Guo Dutian and Du Feng to Deacons, and retained Xiang An as Right Guardian 73.

Expansion under Jiang Dao

Jiang Dao turned the sect into a base for locating Malevolent Spirits and ferocious monsters, seeking modification opportunities from killing them. Xiang An supplied him with records of forbidden zones within sect territory, including Li Family Village, Xin Feng Wharf, and Yin Mountain Temple 73 74.

When the Golden Saber Sect and the yamen moved to seize Blazing Flame Sect businesses after the leadership crisis, Jiang Dao retaliated personally. He killed Golden Saber Sect Master Li Hengjiang and Divine Constable Mu Tianlan, restoring the sect's deterrence in Qianyuan City 79 80.

Following the Black Tiger Gang's collapse, the sect absorbed over sixty percent of its territory and many of its martial artists in Sifang City 104. The An Yang Xie Family later intervened, stabilized the remaining Black Tiger Gang forces, and purged Blazing Flame Sect members from the city 111. Jiang Dao's later victory over the three major powers enabled the sect to resume recruiting and take over the Black Tiger Gang's former territories across the Southern Province 115 122.

Martial Arts and Resources

The sect recruits martial artists and maintains a Martial Repository Pavilion where members can study techniques. Jiang Dao obtained the Wind Thunder Palm, Gale Wind Saber Technique, and Golden Bell Body Protection Divine Art there 36.

Its most valuable internal arts were restricted to the upper leadership:

The sect has repeatedly suffered supernatural infiltration and attacks.
