Background / History

Snake Princess was the young mistress of Snake Manor and the beneficiary of Taishi Xing’s past kindness to her family. Elder Snake arranged her marriage to Taishi Xing’s younger brother, Taishi Ming, as repayment; she initially objected strongly because she was ten years older than him, but refused any suggestion of harming him because of her debt to Taishi Xing 8.

She and Aunt Xu arrived at Taishi Ming’s village to find it massacred. Snake Princess discovered the severely wounded Taishi Ming among the ruins, wept at his condition, and brought him to Snake Manor for treatment 8. Their sudden marriage became major news across Barak City, where she was regarded as the city’s most beautiful young woman and its most talented younger-generation Soul Master 8.

Elder Snake later confirmed that the marriage also protected Snake Manor from pressure by the Second Prince, who had sought to marry her after becoming a Soul Emperor 11.

Snake Princess is initially reluctant and embarrassed by her arranged marriage to a much younger Taishi Ming, but possesses a strong sense of gratitude and familial responsibility.
