History

Early cultivation

Nuwa cultivated beside Fuxi and attended Hongjun's sermon at Zixiao Palace. Her gains were respectable but initially below those of the foremost figures seated on meditation cushions. 4

She and Fuxi later discovered the immature Chaos Gourd Vine within Buzhou Mountain. Although Fuxi intended to fuse its seven gourds into a single treasure, he compensated Nuwa with a string of beads for self-defense. 8

Fuxi subsequently collected the Three Lights Divine Water and Breathing Soil and entrusted both to Nuwa. These materials later became central to her creation of humanity. 15

Path to Quasi-Sainthood

Fuxi's instruction enabled Nuwa to reach the Grand Unity Peak, then guided her toward the Quasi-Saint realm. He later gave her the Six Roots Pure Bamboo after determining that his Twenty-Four Sea Calming Divine Beads were more effective for suppressing space. 18 65

Nuwa attained Quasi-Saint status by severing her Good Corpse. Her Good Corpse emerged from her Flower of the Great Dao, allowing two versions of Nuwa to celebrate Fuxi's guidance together. 69

Creation of the Human Race

After traveling across Honghuang and witnessing the cycles of life and death among its races, Nuwa concluded that the world was too desolate and sought to make it more lively. Fuxi recognized that she had found a path of her own and chose to support her rather than share her opportunity for Sainthood. 119 120

Nuwa first experimented with clay bodies modeled after herself, Fuxi, and the Witch Clan. Though she could give them flesh and blood, they remained lifeless without souls. 120

Following Hongjun's advice, she used Breathing Soil, Three Lights Divine Water, spiritual fruits, and the Qiankun Cauldron to create human bodies. With the Chaos Gourd Vine as a tool, she scattered mud across the riverbanks, producing humans in great numbers. 121 122

Her completion of humanity brought down immense Heavenly Dao Merit and elevated her to Sagehood. She declined to rule as the Human Race's deity, instead instructing humanity to strive for self-improvement and shape its own future. 122 123

Sagehood and the Human Race

Nuwa's ascension tied her fortune to the Human Race and Fuxi. She took pride in humanity's growth, including Suirenshi's achievement of creating fire, and personally encouraged him to aid his people. 123 140 155

When the Demon Race massacred the Human Race, Nuwa emerged from seclusion in fury and confronted Di Jun, Eastern Emperor Taiyi, and Bai Ling. Her Sage pressure forced both armies present to their knees; she then killed the Quasi-Saint Bai Ling with a single bolt of lightning and warned the Heavenly Court against offending a Sage again. 298 299 300

Although she had previously insisted that humanity must be self-reliant, her intervention restored the Human Race's faith in her. They erected statues and temples to Empress Nuwa after the calamity. 301

Nuwa later learned that Bai Ling had been influenced by Heavenly Dao Killing Intent and became troubled by the hidden forces affecting humanity's fate. 303 312

Personality

Nuwa is compassionate toward the beings of Honghuang and takes particular responsibility for the Human Race she created. Her desire to create humanity began with the wish to make the desolate world more vibrant, and she derives comfort from seeing humans grow stronger through their own efforts. 119 140

She values independence despite her closeness to Fuxi. She chose to travel Honghuang alone, discovered her own path to Sainthood, and asked Fuxi only for support rather than demanding that he walk the path with her. 113 120

Nuwa remains playful and affectionate around those she trusts. She enjoys spending time with the Queen Mother of the West, reacts eagerly to the prospect of spiritual fruits, and resists the excessive reverence others show her after becoming a Sage. 74 111 125

Her affection for the Human Race can overcome her usual restraint. Their slaughter by the Demon Race enraged her enough to intervene directly in the Witch–Demon conflict, despite Fuxi's advice that she interfere as little as possible in Honghuang's larger struggles. 299 301
