Nagini's Fate
"Obscurus Serenity had an uncontrollable outburst yesterday," Sirius said gravely, rolling up his sleeve, which bore a thin, burn-like mark. "This is the first time—she doesn't recognize me..."
Dumbledore's expression grew increasingly serious.
"Professor, just as we suspected, although no one wanted it to be this way, the fact is that the coexistence of the Blood Curse and the Obscurus has caused the most serious consequences," Sirius lowered his sleeve, his voice heavy and sorrowful, "When neither is under Daisy's control, the Obscurus becomes a dark force without reason. The suppression curse you left behind can only prevent the Obscurus from erupting, but Daisy's reason is suppressed by the Blood Curse ..."
Snape's breathing quickened, and his eyes grew even more somber.
Dumbledore thought for a moment, then finally said, "Earlier than I expected... We can't wait any longer."
He looked at Sean: "Kid, we're about to try it, and I need you to calm Nagini's wildness."
Sean nodded first, then asked in confusion, "Professor, I can only soothe the souls of animals, but you said that Nagini's soul is possessed by wildness, yet she is still essentially a human soul."
"That is true, so your soothing will not calm Nagini down," Dumbledore explained. "But when the Potions takes effect, the wildness brought on by the Blood Curse will erupt in full force, like the struggle of a dying beast, and that's when you will be needed."
Snape stepped forward and handed over a vial of potion, which contained a clear liquid.
"That wildness might affect your fragile heart. When that happens, you'll drink this potion." His voice remained unchanged, and he even frowned slightly.
However, when Sean took the potion, he noticed that the crystal bottle was somewhat damp.
Snape quickly withdrew his outstretched hand into his Wizarding Robes, clenching his sleeve to wipe the sweat from his hands.
Then he walked briskly toward the Potion Room as if nothing had happened.
The group entered the Potion Room, where Sean saw that Nagini had woken up, but she seemed to have been given Potions, appearing somewhat sluggish and not fully conscious.
In the very center of the room stood a huge full-length mirror, the Mirror of Erised.
Dumbledore walked to the Magic Mirror and took out a box containing golden powder.
Snape handed him a test tube containing blood. "Freshly drawn blood, and the Blood Curse curse has been completely deactivated."
Dumbledore nodded, dipped his little finger into the test tube, and then quickly dusted his fingertip with gold powder.
He sketched something in mid-air, and then Sean saw the gold powder on his fingers peel away layer by layer like dandelion seeds, while the blood seeped into the gold powder like ink from a quill pen.
A symbol appeared in mid-air, flashed, and then disappeared.
It looks Runes? The shape of that special symbol looks familiar; Sean seems to have seen it in a book called "Ancient Runes Explained" that Hermione bought.
Dumbledore repeated the action until the seventh symbol flashed and disappeared before he stopped.
The old man let out a soft breath, then explained to Sean, "Sean, your idea of blood transfusion is quite good. Although the magic of the Blood Curse is not so easy to resolve, I still got some inspiration."
"I will draw blood from Nagini, which will weaken the power of the Blood Curse. Then, the Potions that Severus concocts will counteract the remaining Blood Curse magic."
He pointed to the Mirror of Erised: "At the same time, the mirror will help Nagini see her deepest desires, which may help her resist her animalistic instincts. And at this time, the Runes I just drew will begin to take effect. It is an ancient magic. As you can see, the preliminary steps are troublesome, but fortunately, the effect is equally outstanding."
"It can maintain Nagini's vitality after his blood has been drained, while suppressing all magic in the area, whether it is his own or external, including the power of Blood Curse."
I see... Sean nodded. He was a little envious now. Was the Ancient Magic he learned through Runes really that powerful?
Seeing Sean's eager eyes, Dumbledore smiled gently, "Runes is a bit difficult for you right now, but I can teach you some basics when I have time."
"Thank you so much, Professor," Sean replied quickly, as if worried that Dumbledore change his mind.
Dumbledore waved his hand to indicate that it was nothing to worry about, and then looked at Snape and Sirius: "Severus, we'll start with the predetermined dose, and how much to increase the dose later will be up to you to decide."
"Sirius, Nagini's condition needs you to input magic."
Snape and Sirius nodded simultaneously.
Snape's expression stiffened; he seemed quite annoyed by their synchronization, while Sirius simply shrugged.
"Professor, what about me?" Sean asked.
Dumbledore pulled up a chair and sat down. The hardwood chair in Snape's office seemed to make him a little uncomfortable. He shifted his position as he said, "I'll call you then—oh, Severus, really, you should get a new chair. I can give you a special grant."
"No need for you to worry about that, Headmaster," Snape replied curtly, turning back to the potion-making station, where the brewed Potions was still bubbling in the Cauldron.
Dumbledore and Sean exchanged a glance and shrugged in unison.
After Snape filled the Potions into glass tubes of different sizes, Dumbledore drew his wand and waved it, Nagini slowly floated to the Mirror of Erised.
Although her consciousness and actions were slowed, Nagini became agitated until she saw the Mirror of Erised.
The scene in the mirror was quite bizarre; it was a huge python with a bulging belly, lying in a cave.
Above the python, a less clear figure appeared. It was Nagini in her true form, a beautiful woman with a smile on her face, standing there quietly.
The image in the mirror began to twist; the python changed its position and began to crawl towards Nagini.
In reality, Nagini's enormous body curled up uneasily, her tongue flicking out in agitation.
"Sirius," Dumbledore called out quickly, his face grave.
Then, Sean saw him raise his wand, and a torrent of dark red blood was drawn from Nagini's body, causing her to tremble violently.
