Visiting Hagrid
Seeing that both girls were looking at him, Sean shrugged. "We can practice the Cough Potion beforehand."
"Cough Potion?" Hermione asked doubtfully. "That's Potions we learn in the later years of first year. Why are we learning this in the second lesson?"
Sean casually remarked, "I helped Hagrid move some things yesterday, and one of the boxes contained fresh Moon Dew Flower, which are the main ingredient in Cough Potion."
In fact, he not only helped Hagrid move his things yesterday, but also moved them to Snape's office. While Snape was checking the medicine for damage, Sean saw the lesson preparation materials lying open on the desk.
First grade—second period— Cough Potion, he saw a few obvious words.
Sean had wondered at the time why Snape, who was always cautious and meticulous, would leave his lesson plan notebook lying so carelessly on his desk, but now he understood...
This proud old bat really went to great lengths to get Daisy the Felix Felicis...
Did he think he was completely foolproof and no one had noticed? Sean thought to himself with a wicked smile.
"There are still minor flaws... but for a first-year student, it couldn't be more perfect," Snape said, handing the glass bottle containing the golden potion to Daisy amidst the envious glances of the others.
"Thank you, Professor Snape!" Daisy said with delight as she accepted the Felix Felicis.
Snape paused, then said in a emotionless voice, "... I keep my word." He then returned to the podium without any expression.
Daisy gripped the bottle tightly. Before her lay a perfect Cough Potion. The girl, who unconditionally trusted Sean, had diligently reviewed the steps for making the Cough Potion before this Potions, and she had even asked her brother for help.
Harry, who perfectly inherited his mother's Potions talent and doted on his sister, naturally taught her everything he knew.
"Sean is so smart, he even guessed that... Maybe we should let him try this bottle of Felix Felicis first?" Daisy thought to herself secretly.
If Harry and Snape knew what she was thinking, they'd probably be furious...
Daisy's reputation spread quickly, just like Harry's the previous year—no, even more so. After all, facing Snape and facing Harry are not the same challenges. Not only did Daisy benefit from Felix Felicis Slughorn, but she even earned Ravenclaw points.
Sean, who lost seven points in two Potions, was very impressed...
By the way, Harry lost nine points...
Fortunately, Sean always managed to get good grades in Transfiguration, and he had already self-studied the second-year lesson materials that Professor McGonagall had given him. While other students were angrily poking the beetles in front of them with their wands, trying to turn the little creature that was running around everywhere into buttons, Sean was already decorating the patterns on his own buttons.
"How did you do that?!" Hermione muttered defiantly, a dark gray button lying in front of her, but Sean had clearly done a better job.
"Focus your attention and completely visualize the image you want to Transfiguration into in your mind. You also need to time the casting of the spell perfectly," Sean said.
He turned the beetle into a button again, the seventh time he had done so— Sean wanted the Hogwarts School Crest to appear on the button, but some details always left him dissatisfied.
"Oh, this time it's not bad." Sean happily picked up the button. On its tiny surface, a lion, snake, badger, and eagle surrounded a shield, and below it, on the ribbon, was written the Latin words "Do Not Disturb the Sleeping Dragon."
"Beautiful pattern, Mr. Wallop, ten points for Ravenclaw." Professor McGonagall, who was passing by, glanced at it and smiled as she gave him the points.
Sean smiled and nodded in acknowledgment. He planned to review the second-year material again before going to Professor McGonagall to learn the third-year material in advance—as well as the Animagus that Dumbledore had mentioned.
However, his good mood was quickly ruined by the afternoon's Defense Against the Dark Arts. Sean had thought Lockhart wasn't as bad as he'd imagined, but it turned out he'd overestimated him.
Lockhart's Defense Against the Dark Arts was a disaster. He turned his hobbies and achievements into a test for everyone to answer, and then released the Cornish Pixies had just captured.
There were too many of those little creatures, and Sean decided to use his Magical Creature Affinity cautiously, so he didn't try to appease Goblin.
As a result, the runaway Goblin lost Lockhart's wand, smashed the windows, and Lockhart assigned Sean and Hermione to clean up the mess.
In the second lesson, Lockhart began looking for someone to play the lead role in "Voyages with Vampires." Don't get me wrong, the male lead was still Lockhart himself. The actor he found had to play a vampire and wear garlic around his neck.
Sean became the unfortunate victim simply because he gave Hermione his habitual, elegant smile while speaking to her.
"Oh, young man, that's a wonderful smile—in twenty years, you'll have a chance to compete with me for the Most Charming Smile Award in Witch Weekly, of course, because I'll be old in twenty years, haha."
That's what Lockhart said.
For the first time, Sean hated his smile so much.
"Sean, that was great. By the way, we'll be studying another of my books next class, ' Break with a Banshee.'" Lockhart winked at Sean affectionately after class.
Sean could only manage a dry laugh before considering whether he should feign illness for the next class.
"On the bright side, you at least got five points," Hermione comforted him.
Sean sighed helplessly, "This is also the key to my ability to keep going—damn it, I smell like garlic all over!"
They left the castle and headed towards the Forbidden Forest before nightfall... Hagrid sent a note via owl, inviting the two to come over as guests.
Harry and the others were supposed to go too, but he couldn't help talking back in the last class and ended up getting a detention from Snape. He had to clean an old house, Ron and Neville went to help him.
When Sean arrived at Hagrid's Hut, he went up and knocked on the door.
"Knock knock".
However, no one inside responded.
"Hagrid isn't home. Did he go to the Forbidden Forest?" Hermione asked, puzzled.
Sean frowned. He walked into the vegetable garden, stood by the open window, and peered inside. The small house was pitch black.
That shouldn't be the case. Although Hagrid isn't always that smart, he's essentially a person who values promises and wouldn't easily stand someone Dove.
Sean walked to the back door and found that the rubber overshoes and crossbow next to the small door were gone.
"Looks like Hagrid is still in the Forbidden Forest and hasn't returned yet," he called out to Hermione.
The two waited for a while, and just as they were about to leave, a dark figure darted out from the edge of the Forbidden Forest.
