Coincidence or Accident
Sean looked down at the girl in his arms. Tears still clung to the corners of her eyes, and the fear and panic on her face had not completely faded, making her look like a trembling Little White Flower.
"It's alright, you're at Hogwarts, the safest place in the world," he whispered reassuringly.
Seeing that Daisy's emotions had finally calmed down, Sean gave Hermione a wink, and the latter immediately hugged the Little White Flower into her arms.
"I'll go tell the professor," Sean explained, then hurriedly left the Common Room.
He was now worried that his and Dumbledore's initial speculations were incorrect—whether it was that letter or this Ghostly Horned Serpent, were they both aimed at Daisy?
Sean was present when Bathilda Bagshot awakened her memories, so Sean subconsciously assumed that this was directed at him. However, he overlooked Daisy, who was also present—she hadn't been out much for many years because of the Blood Curse and the Obscurus.
So what role will Daisy play in the letter?
First came the fermentation of suspicion. Daisy appeared gentle and frail, but she was actually a smart and sensitive girl. According to Harry, in the days immediately following the discovery of the Blood Curse, Daisy was extremely gloomy and trusted no one except her family—not even Sirius.
Moreover, she was used to keeping everything to herself and subconsciously disliked her magical abilities, which is how the Obscurus was born. Later, with the constant companionship and guidance of her family, little Daisy gradually returned to her original personality.
But past experiences don't disappear; Daisy's personality must contain a sensitive and suspicious side.
Thinking about the letter and the contents of that memory—two young ' Dark Wizard,' Forbidden Human Experimentation ... Sean felt that Daisy, after seeing it, would definitely think Dumbledore and Grindelwald were no good people; after all, she was just an eleven-year-old girl...
But what was the other party's purpose in doing this...? Sean walked along the stone corridor of the castle, and he habitually touched his chin.
Is it merely to make a little girl suspicious of her principal? Or will this distrust trigger other chain reactions?
For example, this time with the Horned Serpent...
If the Ghostly Horned Serpent wasn't lying, then Daisy was likely lured to the heart of the Forbidden Forest... No, something doesn't make sense here!
Sean frowned. He realized there were too many illogical things going on in this matter... After Daisy's memories were awakened by the Horned Serpent, she acted with extreme fear and panic, which might disrupt what the Ghostly Horned Serpent wanted to do.
If the guess is correct and this is the Mysterious Person's target, then it proves that the Ghostly Horned Serpent may not really have any malicious intent—the enemy of my enemy is my friend, and the person who cursed Daisy with the Blood Curse is on the opposite side of the Ghostly Horned Serpent.
But this raises another question: were Bathilda Bagshot's and Daisy's memory switches set by the same person?
Sean was a little confused, but he had a feeling that he was missing some key information. Once he filled in that gap, everything would make sense.
With this in mind, he went to the Headmaster's Office on the Seventh Floor.
The Gargoyle glanced at him and lazily asked, "Password?"
"Fizzing Whizbees, by the way, is Professor Dumbledore in his office?"
The Gargoyle jumped aside. "I'm only responsible for guarding the gate—you guessed the password, right?"
Sean scratched his head sheepishly. He had indeed guessed; after all, the password to the Headmaster's Office was always something like candy or snacks.
He walked up the spiral staircase and then knocked on the door. "Professor, are you there? It's Sean."
There was no response from inside the office, but the wooden door opened by itself.
When Sean went inside, he discovered that Dumbledore was not in his office.
The oddly shaped silverwares are still tirelessly steaming, while the Phoenix's empty Perch has been moved to the telescope under the skylight.
As soon as he stepped inside, the portraits of the past Hogwarts Headmaster hanging on the wall came to life; they had been pretending to be asleep in the paintings.
"They don't look any different?"
"Don't be silly, Dumbledore said he was different from others."
"Yes, yes, I can sense that this child is special."
"You are just a painting..."
"In our time, those who believed in Prophecy generally died more tragically than Prophecy who did not."
Are you proud to have died of Dragon Pox?
The principals, oblivious to everyone else, began discussing Sean's portrait and started arguing as usual.
A witch with an elegant posture but a dignified expression nodded to Sean: "Dumbledore wants you to wait for him here."
Sean nodded, but in the Portraits beside him, an old wizard with a goatee and sparse eyebrows snorted disdainfully. He was dressed in Slytherin's silver and green robes.
"When I was headmaster, a mud-brick..." He seemed to want to say a word, but the other headmaster portraits all turned to stare at him. "Ahem, how could a wizard from the Muggle Family possibly step into the Hogwarts Headmaster's office!"
"Phineas, if you don't want to get beaten up, then speak properly," a male wizard with a red nose said sternly.
Sean immediately recognized the other person: Phineas Nigellus Black, the most unpopular headmaster in Hogwarts history, bar none, Sirius was his great-great-grandson.
Phineas looked like he was used to getting beaten up. He shrank back, but still stubbornly insisted, "That's true!"
"That's because you're so stupid!" a grumpy witch yelled at him. "I shouldn't have chosen you as the next headmaster!"
Sean saw the description below the portrait: it was Euprasia Moore, the former principal of Phineas.
Phineas seemed particularly afraid of Euprasia. He subconsciously touched his nose and obediently shrank back without saying a word.
Euprasia turned her head and smiled gently at Sean, looking very kind.
The school principals are quite interesting...
Sean found a soft stool and sat down, resting his chin on his hand as he looked towards the center of the Headmaster's Office.
I wonder when Dumbledore will return... But he knew I was coming? Does that mean this old man already has some clues about the person behind it all?
After waiting for almost an hour, just as Sean was starting to feel sleepy, a flame finally lit up in the center of the office.
Dumbledore, emerging from the flames, looked slightly tired. He smiled at Sean and said, "Sorry to keep you waiting, Sean. To be honest, chatting with those people at the Ministry of Magic was exhausting."
