Daisy's Patronus!
Daisy's cane flashed with silver light, illuminating the entire Room of Requirement.
Her wand was trembling slightly, as if something was struggling to break free from the small wooden stick.
Daisy's eyes were filled with surprise and delight, but she showed no panic or helplessness. The Little White Flower gripped her wand tightly and stretched her arm straight out.
The light at the tip of the staff was still flashing intensely, far more powerful than the two clouds of white mist that Sean and Hermione had created.
But whether Daisy encountered an obstacle or some other problem, the dazzling silver light kept flashing at the tip of the staff, and the Patronus inside never appeared.
Sean and Hermione had already stepped aside. To avoid distracting Daisy, the two remained silent and moved with extreme caution.
As time went on, Daisy's wand trembled more and more violently, and the girl's face grew slightly paler.
Hermione couldn't hold back any longer. She looked at Sean with concern and whispered, "How could this happen? The Patronus Charm is a defensive spell. Even if the spell fails, it won't harm the wizard. Daisy's condition was a sign of magic depletion..."
Sean frowned as well. He had never encountered this situation before, and the well-informed Professor McGonagall had not noted any relevant information on the parchment. Just as Hermione had said, the Patronus Charm was harmless; at most, practicing it too many times would deplete some energy, which could be relieved by a good night's sleep.
Inside the Room of Requirement, Daisy persisted, even though beads of sweat were beginning to trickle down her forehead.
Sean closed his eyes, trying to use his exceptional magical talent to determine Daisy's condition.
He cleared his mind, sharpened his senses, and focused intently on observing the magical fluctuations around him.
No results found.
The magical energy at the tip of Daisy's staff fluctuated considerably, but it was still within the normal range that Sean recognized. Compared to the two unformed wisps of silver mist that he and Hermione were creating, Daisy was only expending about three times more magical energy than him, which was the normal consumption of the Patronus Charm.
This kind of magic consumption is not a problem for Daisy, a young wizard who is already very talented and always hangs out with academic geniuses.
Aside from the fluctuations at the tip of Daisy's staff, Sean only sensed a faint magical energy throughout the space. This energy came from the Room of Requirement, and there was no sign that the energy was being drawn to Daisy.
What exactly went wrong? Could it be because of the Blood Curse...? Sean opened his eyes anxiously.
In the very center of the room, beads of sweat clung to the tip of Daisy's delicate nose, and her breathing quickened, but her eyes were bright, seemingly carrying a light, as she stubbornly held up her wand.
Wait a minute... Sean finally realized something was wrong.
It's not that my magic is being depleted, but rather that my mental energy is being depleted!
The profoundness of the Patronus Charm lies in the application of mental power, and Daisy's appearance seems to indicate that she is in a state of mental exhaustion that she cannot maintain.
"Sean?!" Hermione called out in a low, anxious voice.
There was no time to think about the reasons anymore. Sean took a deep breath and stepped forward.
He was going to forcefully break Daisy's spell!
Magic itself contains too many unknowns, and Daisy has experienced the torment of the Blood Curse. There are too many uncertain risks involved, and Sean cannot let her be put in danger.
For safety's sake, Sean plans to approach Daisy directly and then use the reward he won in the Lottery Draw.
Finite Incantatem (Purple): Consumable item, 2/2 uses. After using this item, all continuous spells within a 3-meter radius of the user are nullified (including spells cast on the user). (Does not affect Magical Grounds limitations).
"Daisy, try to focus your attention yourself, and I'll help you stop the spell," Sean said as he approached.
To everyone's surprise, the Little White Flower who never refused Sean was now shaking her head at Sean.
"No, Sean, I can do it..." Daisy's voice was weak.
"Daisy, listen to me, okay?" Sean said in his gentlest tone, "This is your first time trying it, and you're mentally exhausted. We can try again next time, okay?"
"No..." Unexpectedly, Daisy still stubbornly shook her head.
Although he didn't know why the usually timid and innocent Little White Flower was so persistent, seeing the beads of sweat constantly sliding down her forehead and her already pale face losing its rosy hue due to the great mental exertion, Sean couldn't help but take another step closer.
Daisy looked directly at him with pleading eyes.
"I have a feeling, please believe me... please, Sean..."
Sean hesitated. He could clearly see the longing in the girl's eyes, her dark green pupils carrying a bright yet gentle light.
She knew what she was doing.
"One minute. I'll give you one minute. If you can't summon it, I'll help you break the spell." Sean made his decision.
Hermione's eyes widened, her mouth opened and closed, but she finally walked behind Sean and lowered her voice.
"Sean, are you crazy?!"
"I trust Daisy ..." Sean said softly, his eyes still fixed on the girl.
Daisy smiled sweetly at the two of them, then closed her eyes.
The silver light grew even brighter, and the girl's face became even paler.
As time passed, Sean held up his watch; the second hand had already jumped to the eleventh position.
"Prepare to use the Finite Incantatem..." Sean instructed, then walked closer to Daisy.
Three meters... The area has been reached, and the time has come.
Just then, Daisy suddenly opened her tightly closed eyes. Her soft but straight eyelashes fluttered, and her gaze toward Sean was filled with passion and longing.
The silver light burst forth completely.
No, it gushed out!
As mist swirled around Daisy's staff, a creature far beyond Sean's imagination took flight.
Huge wings covered the entire ceiling of the room.
That was a silver Fire Dragon that was over ten meters long!
The Fire Dragon opened its mouth, but there was no deafening roar. Sean felt as if he were being soothed by a warm current, like soaking in a hot spring. His anxiety and unease were rapidly subsiding, and even some of the mental energy he had consumed while practicing the spell was gradually recovering.
"You did it..." Sean's lips curled up involuntarily as he looked at Daisy with delight.
Little White Flower, however, was not at all bewildered. The rosy complexion on her face was gradually returning, and she was looking at Sean with reddened eyes.
"Well done," Sean said sincerely.
Daisy's lips twitched twice, and finally she let out a whimper before rushing straight into Sean's arms in the dappled silver light.
"Thank you..." the girl murmured in his arms.
"Oh...oh..." Sean was a little flustered, but he finally turned around and gently hugged Daisy. "This is your talent and your perseverance. You're welcome..."
Daisy looked up at him, and the girl's soft yet burning gaze made Sean's breathing become unnaturally heavy.
"When you helped me separate from Obscurus, I was watching the whole time, and I could feel it all the time..." Daisy said softly, then smiled and let go of Sean.
"Daisy! You're amazing!" Hermione screamed as she ran over.
"Waaah, Hermione ~~" Daisy called out sweetly, and the two girls hugged each other tightly.
Sean was slightly lost in thought... That silver Fire Dragon... it looked so familiar...
It lacks any of the distinctive features of any existing Fire Dragon species, with a slender yet powerful body, a head covered in barbs, and pure silver eyes that are not empty but rather convey a sense of reassurance.
This... seems to be his Animagus form, or more accurately, his original Animagus form. He can transform into any type of Fire Dragon he wants based on the wand core, but his original form is this unknown Fire Dragon appearance.
In its original state, he hadn't even shown it to Hermione and Daisy...
Over there, the two girls skipped and jumped around for a while, then Hermione grabbed Daisy and looked her up and down, exclaiming in surprise, "You've recovered..."
Daisy nodded. "Yes, my spirit started to recover quickly when the Patronus was summoned."
"That's amazing!" Hermione exclaimed.
"But what's even more amazing is this..." Sean pointed to the huge silver Fire Dragon that was still circling around.
"Oh right... Ah—" Hermione screamed, "Daisy, your Patronus is Fire Dragon! Oh my god, oh my god! I've looked into many cases, and it's very rare for Patronus to be Magical Creatures!"
"But there are still examples," Sean added.
As far as he knew, Dumbledore's Patronus was Magical Creatures — the Phoenix.
"But Daisy, Daisy's first time summoning!" Hermione was unusually incoherent. "My friend, she succeeded on her first use of the Patronus Charm and even summoned a Fire Dragon! No, I need to process this..."
Finally, it was only after Hermione calmed down that the group had time to study Daisy's Dragon Patronus.
This was probably the largest Patronus Sean had ever seen, after all, it was Fire Dragon, and this Dragon Patronus always gave Sean a familiar feeling.
Hermione asked Daisy curiously, "Which memory did you recall?"
Daisy winked her beautiful big eyes at Sean secretly, put her hands behind her back, and happily tiptoed. "Anyway, it was a very, very unforgettable and very, very happy moment."
Hermione nodded in agreement. "That would definitely be unforgettable."
"Now, the moment you summoned your Patronus is also very memorable for both of us." Sean shrugged.
He had initially thought Sickle summon a doe like her mother Lily, or a stag like her father— the Potter family's Patronus showed clear signs of being passed down from person to person.
Daisy just chuckled and didn't say anything.
"By the way, Daisy, you said you felt something just now, what did you feel?" Sean asked.
Daisy raised her head, wrinkling her nose in slight distress. "Well, like right now, when the Fire Dragon is hovering, it gives me a very reassuring feeling. But when I didn't summon it just now, that feeling was almost gone. Yeah, that's it."
There was something Daisy didn't say: when she was summoning the Patronus, she had a vague feeling that it might be related to Sean, because her memories were full of his image.
Moreover, she finally managed to summon the Fire Dragon only after watching Sean intently.
Sean nodded. "Having a premonition about one's Patronus is something Professor McGonagall did mention. However, such a difficult summoning is rare. Could it be related to the size of the Patronus?"
Hermione also rested her chin on her hand in confusion. "Logically speaking, it shouldn't have anything to do with body size, but Daisy's Patronus is much larger, so it's hard to say."
Daisy bit her lip, and finally said softly, "I think it might be related to the intensity of the emotions?"
"The magnitude of the emotion?" Sean and Hermione both fell into deep thought.
Daisy smiled slightly as she watched the two of them, whose expressions and movements were perfectly synchronized.
Only those who have truly experienced it know how wonderful it is to struggle out of the double abyss of the Obscurus and the Blood Curse, and how towering the figure standing before you is.
Little White Flower gazed at the silver Fire Dragon in the sky, a smile playing on her lips and her eyes crinkling.
very nice.
After studying Daisy's trick for a long time without success, Sean and Hermione gave up in disappointment. However, with Daisy's successful demonstration, the two were optimistic about their chances of successfully summoning their Patronus.
Give it a try!
Furthermore, in subsequent experiments, Sean discovered that the silver mist he and Hermione summoned was noticeably thicker when Daisy's Patronus was present.
He immediately recalled the plot of the original book, where Harry personally taught the members of the DA (Daily Aid of the Patronus Charm, and the group practiced together. In the end, the DA collectively mastered this extremely profound spell.
Could this be related to how he felt today?
Perhaps, practicing the Patronus Charm together with people who have a personal relationship might have a synergistic effect.
This further strengthened Sean's resolve to quickly learn the Patronus Charm and then teach it to the members of the Golden Dawn.
After Daisy's stunning silver Fire Dragon, the group continued practicing for two more days. Sean and Hermione's progress accelerated, while Daisy was already able to summon her Patronus with remarkable ease.
On the other hand, because of Umbridge's hospitalization, the students of Hogwarts have become more and more connected.
The best way to unite is to stand together against external threats.
However, our beloved Professor Snape obviously couldn't bring himself to kill him. After lying in Madam Pomfrey's for three days and drinking the antidote for three days (this was all thanks to Peeves, who had been hired by Sean to disturb Umbridge's sleep), Umbridge returned to the school amidst everyone's disapproving gazes.
However, this Senior Undersecretary from the Ministry of Magic no longer had the arrogance he had when he first arrived.
Her signature fake, cloying smile was gone, and she now looked at each student and even each faculty member with a stern, scrutinizing gaze.
Of course, Professor Snape is an exception, as he's quick to act and poison without hesitation.
In addition, Umbridge brought several assistants with her when she returned this time, namely, so-called assistant investigators.
