He became unusually interested in Yoru Machi after recognizing the exceptional strength of his soul and the potential of his Zanpakutō, Higan. Aizen attempted to recruit him, believing that Yoru Machi’s apparent laziness concealed ambitions comparable to his own; Yoru Machi refused. 138 463

Aizen’s Soul Society operation centered on recovering the Hōgyoku hidden within Kuchiki Rukia.
