Background / History

Blizzard is Tatsumaki’s younger sister and a fellow psychic. Though she surpassed Tatsumaki physically, she grew up overshadowed by her sister’s far greater psychic talent. She remained Rank B’s first-ranked hero because the position gave her a measure of validation despite the gulf between Rank B and Rank S. 197

During her school years, Blizzard and Psykos were close friends who served as president and vice-president of the Psychic Research Society. Their ideological split dissolved the society, after which Psykos disappeared for years. 939

Unable to match Tatsumaki through individual strength, Blizzard formed the Blizzard Group to challenge powerful heroes through collective strength. She later pursued Yoru Machi after recognizing his potential during the Hero Association assessment. 200 202

Appearance

Blizzard is portrayed as a tall, fair-skinned, mature woman with a notably glamorous presence. She usually projects an elegant, high-class image, including through the Blizzard Group’s coordinated black suits. 209 232

  • Her psychokinesis manifests as a blue aura, with her pupils emitting a faint blue glow when she exerts power. 195
  • She can levitate through psychic power. 195
  • Before her enhancement, she had shoulder-length hair; the potion caused it to grow considerably longer. 928

Personality

Blizzard is proud, ambitious, and highly conscious of rank, reputation, and public recognition. Her desire to surpass Tatsumaki initially led her to cling to Rank B’s first position and cultivate the Blizzard Group’s polished image even while the group struggled financially. 197 211

She is persistent to the point of intrusiveness, repeatedly visiting Yoru Machi’s home and refusing to abandon her efforts to recruit or retain him. She also values the strength and status his presence brings to her group. 202 901

Despite her vanity and insecurity, Blizzard is capable of exceptional resolve. Against the Deep Sea King, she repeatedly rebuilt a shattered psychic barrier to protect civilians despite severe mental backlash and near-fatal injuries. 219 220

Her growth changes her outlook on effort. Once convinced that limited talent made hard work meaningless, she comes to believe that desperate circumstances can be faced and changed rather than avoided. 939 940

Abilities & Skills

Psychokinesis

Blizzard uses psychic power to manipulate objects, restrain opponents, create barriers, and levitate.

  • Can control large quantities of small heavy objects, such as dumbbells and iron blocks, and accelerate them into an opponent. 196
  • Can float in mid-air to maintain distance from close-range fighters. 195
  • Can restrain an opponent’s movement, though her pre-enhancement power could not stop Yoru Machi’s advance. 197
  • Can lift and weaponize vehicles, halt flying debris, and impose enough telekinetic pressure to immobilize Do-S and her enslaved victims. 930
  • Her original limits prevented her from stopping massive meteor fragments outright; she could only hold them suspended long enough for Yoru Machi to cut them apart. 207

Psychic Barriers

Blizzard can form blue psychic barriers around herself or civilians.

  • Used a protective shield against Yoru Machi’s Fist Pressure, but it shattered under the attack. 196
  • Repeatedly shielded civilians from the Deep Sea King despite each break causing intense mental backlash. 219 220
  • Barrier failure can leave her disoriented, exhausted, and physically injured. 220

Hell Storm

Blizzard’s signature technique creates a telekinetically driven dust tornado.

  • Before her enhancement, it was comparatively small and closer to a whirlwind. 930
  • After enhancement, it became a sandstorm over ten meters high and hurled Do-S more than a hundred meters away. 930
  • Psykos could split the enhanced Hell Storm with a psychic slashing attack, demonstrating Blizzard’s remaining gap against stronger espers. 940

Superpower Enhancement Potion

A reagent created by Yoru Machi using Monster Cells and potion-making technology enhanced Blizzard’s body and psychic power without physically transforming her into a monster. 928

  • Greatly increased her psychic output and control. 928
  • Allowed her to use multiple powerful techniques without the exhaustion she would previously have suffered. 930
  • Enabled her to overpower the peak Demon-class monster Do-S. 930

False Command Spell

The tattoo-like False Command Spell stores Yoru Machi’s magic and acts as a temporary reserve of amplifying power. 922 940

  • Initially provided three uses and can be replenished. 922
  • Enhances Blizzard comprehensively when activated. 940
  • Let her effortlessly uproot and throw a skyscraper at Psykos. 940 941
  • One mark disappears after use. 940

Relationships

  • Tatsumaki — Her older sister, fellow esper, and lifelong source of both rivalry and insecurity. Tatsumaki is protective of Blizzard but dismissive of the Blizzard Group. 197 227
  • Yoru Machi — Initially her opponent in a hero assessment, then the powerful recruit she persistently brought into the Blizzard Group. He later provides her enhancements; Blizzard becomes possessive when others show interest in him. 196 200 921 940
  • Psykos — Former school friend and Psychic Research Society vice-president. Their reunion turns hostile after Psykos becomes affiliated with the Monster Association. 939
  • Eyelashes, Mountain Ape, and Lily — Core Blizzard Group members who admire Blizzard and support her leadership. 210 930
  • Stinger, Lightning Max, and Snake — Rank A heroes who join the Blizzard Group after Yoru Machi’s rise in fame; Blizzard seeks to retain them as the group expands. 233 901
  • Saitama and Genos — Members of Yoru Machi’s inner circle whom Blizzard repeatedly tries to integrate with. She recognizes that both are far beyond her in combat strength. 202 900

Convinced of his potential, she repeatedly attempts to recruit him. Yoru Machi eventually joins the Blizzard Group, where Blizzard introduces him as a Rank B hero under the unwanted title “One-Handed Barbell.” 200 210 211

Meteorite and Deep Sea King Incidents

During the Z-City meteorite crisis, Blizzard suspends the massive fragments so Yoru Machi can cut them into smaller pieces. She receives public credit for the operation and is promoted to Rank A, fifth place. 207 209

Against the Deep Sea King, Blizzard holds a barrier around civilians until she collapses from repeated psychic backlash. A white-haired swordsman arrives before she can be killed. Her actions later earn her promotion to Rank A’s second position. 220 230

Blizzard Group Expansion

Yoru Machi’s perceived defeat of Boros brings fame to both him and the Blizzard Group, attracting stronger Rank A heroes. Blizzard attempts to use his reputation to stabilize the expanding group, whose new members increasingly expect access to the Rank S hero. 901

During Boros’s invasion, Blizzard attacks Boros with Hell Storm but is effortlessly repelled. She later enters the alien ship to rescue the unconscious Yoru Machi from the battle’s collateral damage. 244 247

Psychic Enhancement and Monster Association Conflict

Seeking the strength needed to reach Rank S, Blizzard purchases all three enhancement plans Yoru Machi offers: a False Command Spell, training, and a Superpower Enhancement Potion. 921 922

After drinking the potion, she overwhelms Do-S and displays a vastly stronger Hell Storm before the Blizzard Group. 928 930

Blizzard confronts Psykos during the Monster Association conflict, devastated by her former friend’s betrayal but determined to bring her back. When Psykos proves stronger, Blizzard activates a False Command Spell and gains the power to manipulate skyscrapers and terrain on a massive scale. 939 940 941
