Gin and Guchuan faced off, neither saying a word.
Behind Gin, Vodka was practically vibrating with anticipation, ready to charge forward and take a beating the moment Gin gave the order.
"I have another new mission for you."
Gin spoke, and the tension began to ease.
"Kill this person within three days, an diplomat." Gin pulled out a photo.
"A diplomat?"
Guchuan took the photo and looked at it. He remembered Conan had been involved in the death of a diplomat before, but he wasn't sure if it was this one, or if he'd even make it in time.
"Don't worry, just leave it to me." Guchuan wore an expression that implied: you can trust me to handle this.
"Get lost." Gin was quite rude.
Guchuan paid no mind to Gin's unpleasant attitude, merely giving him the middle finger as a sign of his "friendship."
"Oh, and don't bother the boss during normal hours," Gin suddenly added.
"What did you say?" Guchuan didn't understand.
"Heh, do you really think that if you badmouth me to the boss, he'll doubt me?" Gin scoffed.
The boss's trust in him far exceeded Guchuan's imagination. When Gin learned that Guchuan had been badmouthing him to the boss, Gin nearly burst out laughing in front of Vodka.
Just a kid, resorting to such tricks.
"Gin, I've always respected you. Why would I ever badmouth you to the boss?" Guchuan's expression was incredibly fake.
Being in a higher position, Guchuan could see Gin's neck wrapped by his coat. One good whack there, and Gin should be unconscious for a long time, right?
Gin wouldn't believe Guchuan's nonsense. He still hadn't mentioned the incident where Guchuan tied him to Tokyo Tower last time, surely he was holding onto something.
"I'm off. As a model employee of The Organization, I'm just too busy. I've got another mission, and I don't know when I'll get a break. I really wish I could be like certain people and relax, drinking and chatting at a bar." Guchuan said sarcastically.
Vodka, standing nearby, nearly exploded.
They had just executed a traitor here, and the blood on the floor hadn't even been wiped yet! How much had this kid contributed to The Organization anyway?!
It was fortunate that Guchuan left quickly, otherwise he would have certainly experienced Vodka's furious attack.
As soon as he reached the bar's entrance, Guchuan started badmouthing Gin to the boss. Guchuan didn't care whether the boss believed him or not; if he did, it was a huge win, and if not, it didn't matter.
It wasn't any trouble anyway, just typing a few words.
Guchuan: Boss, Gin is running rampant in Japan, practically ruling the roost and promoting only his cronies. The worst part is he even steals credit from his subordinates. I've suffered terribly, working hard for so long without even getting a codename. Otherwise, even if Gin had 48 hours a day, he couldn't do so much. Guchuan: Vodka, who's always with Gin, is the most pathetic. He works diligently on missions, and in the end, he's just rumored to be Gin's driver. I, Guchuan, truly can't stand it. I'm risking my life to advise you, Boss, not for myself, but for The Organization! Guchuan: There's a reason why The Organization's members in Japan are dwindling. Gin always uses the excuse of dealing with infiltrators to kill people indiscriminately. He's completely eradicating dissenters! If I die one day, it'll definitely be because Gin killed me.
Guchuan wrote a lengthy message and clicked send.
Although the boss wouldn't respond to Guchuan, Guchuan still enjoyed doing it.
Under the cover of night, Guchuan sped home on his motorcycle. Not encountering Yumi Miyamoto, he was in a wonderful mood.
"Wake up."
Little Ai skillfully opened Guchuan's bedroom door and pulled off his blanket.
"What are you doing~" Guchuan grumbled, snatching back his blanket, rolling himself up in it, and continuing to sleep.
"Are you going to work or not?" Little Ai continued to tug at the blanket, battling Guchuan for it.
"Just a little more sleep." Guchuan buried his head in the blanket, his voice coming out muffled.
Little Ai continued to try and wake Guchuan. She really didn't know how this guy got his abs. He spent all his time being lazy, overeating, not exercising, and not controlling his portions.
"Mmm~ mmm!"
Guchuan's temper flared. He opened the blanket and wrapped Little Ai inside. Little Ai was caught off guard and enveloped by Guchuan in the blanket, with only her head peeking out, unable to move as Guchuan held her.
"Let go!" Little Ai's face was beet red as she wriggled in Guchuan's arms like a worm.
"I'll let go when I've had enough sleep," Guchuan said with his eyes closed.
"I need to use the bathroom!" Little Ai struggled wildly, but Guchuan only held her tighter.
"I don't believe you."
Guchuan simply wouldn't let go, holding Little Ai tightly. An hour later, Guchuan finally got up, satisfied.
After getting out of bed, Little Ai didn't take her anger out on Guchuan. Instead, she walked straight into the bathroom.
Guchuan winced.
It turned out that an hour ago, Little Ai hadn't been lying about needing the bathroom. Guchuan felt a bit guilty and quickly pulled out his phone to call Conan.
"Bro, I need your help."
Little Ai stayed in the bathroom for a long time before coming out. After she emerged, she didn't speak to Guchuan. She simply warmed up her breakfast, ate, and washed the dishes, without any communication with Guchuan throughout.
"Ding dong~" Conan stood panting at the door of Guchuan's house, leaning heavily on his electric skateboard, clearly exhausted.
Upon receiving Guchuan's message, he had immediately rushed out of Uncle Mori's house and sped all the way here.
"Thanks, brother, come by anytime." Guchuan took the package from Conan's hand and then shut him out.
"Uh… Guchuan!" Conan stared blankly at the door in front of him.
Forget it, forget it. Guchuan's not in his right mind; he must have had a sudden relapse and forgotten to invite me in. The doctor said not to disturb psychiatric patients during a relapse, so I'd better go see Professor Agasa.
"Knock, knock~" Guchuan gently tapped on Little Ai's bedroom door.
"What is it?" Little Ai opened the door, but her expression was cold, not giving Guchuan a pleasant look.
"Here's the bag I promised to buy you." Guchuan handed the bag to Little Ai.
Guchuan tentatively reached out to pat Little Ai's head. Though Little Ai rolled her eyes, she didn't object.
"You should go to work now, I'm going to sleep," Little Ai told him.
"You're not coming with me?"
"No way, it's so boring."
After Guchuan left, Little Ai carefully placed the bag next to the bouquet of carnations and pulled out something hidden under her blanket.
By the time Guchuan arrived at Nichuri TV, it was already eleven in the morning, just in time for a working lunch there.
Choso Fuji hadn't told him his work hours, so this wasn't considered late.
"How's the editing for yesterday's show coming along?" Guchuan asked Choso Fuji.
"It's almost done; it's airing tonight," Choso Fuji replied.
"OK!" Guchuan made an OK gesture.
Since it's airing tonight, maybe I should hire some internet trolls.
