Background / History

Gin is The Organization's Japan-based leader, commanding Vodka and assigning missions to other members. He is feared by subordinates, intolerant of incompetence, and accustomed to resolving threats through execution or coercion. When his Porsche is stolen, he orders its retrieval and the car thief's death rather than involving the police. 1

After Guchuan Ning joins the Organization, Gin personally tests him in combat and assigns him the mission of capturing the rogue researcher Shiho Miyano alive. Despite repeatedly criticizing Guchuan's lack of discipline and experience, Gin continues to employ him because of his effectiveness on missions. 4 105

Gin's authority is increasingly challenged by Guchuan, Vermouth, Bourbon, and Ireland. He is temporarily suspended and sent to America after Guchuan, Vermouth, and Bourbon support a false diagnosis claiming he has depression. During his absence, Guchuan turns the Organization's bar into a venue for frequent gatherings and spends operational funds on “team-building.” 152 170

Upon returning, Gin reasserts control, reprimands members for their conduct, audits the Organization's depleted finances, and assigns punitive missions. 174 177 Later, Akako's shrinking drug transforms both Gin and Vodka into children. Guchuan confiscates Gin's SIM card, leaving him unable to contact the boss, and places him in Teitan Elementary School under the name Guchuan Shota. 208 209

Appearance

Gin is associated with white hair, a cold expression, cigarettes, and his black Porsche 356A. His hair was previously golden before he dyed it white. 122

  • Usually wears a trench coat and carries a gun. 191
  • Frequently smokes, including during briefings and confrontations. 1 4
  • Is physically transformed into a child by Akako's drug while retaining his adult identity and awareness. 208 210

Personality

Gin is calm, severe, and highly intolerant of foolishness, disobedience, and betrayal. He distrusts members who behave suspiciously, especially suspected undercover agents, and routinely uses threats, punishment, or execution to maintain order. 1 23 131

He is pragmatic and perceptive in investigations, correctly identifying Tokyo Tower as the true site of a murder case and recognizing that money can be more useful than violence when investigating Bourbon. 139 150 He also maintains an unusually restrained tolerance for Guchuan's provocations because Guchuan completes missions aggressively and efficiently. 105

Gin initially rejects the idea of magic as nonsense, but Akako's levitation, fireball, and lightning display force him to accept that magic exists. 98 122

Abilities & Skills

Investigation and Deduction

Gin rapidly evaluates information, identifies inconsistencies, and follows operational leads.

  • Deduced that the real killer was at Tokyo Tower rather than Suihua Park. 150
  • Investigated Bourbon's spending and suspected misuse of Organization funds. 139
  • Used a reverse-tracking program to attempt to locate Sherry through a voicemail. 178
  • Connected the effects of the shrinking drug to Sherry's escape and correctly recognized Little Ai as Sherry. 210

Combat and Firearms

Gin is a dangerous combatant who uses direct violence without hesitation.

  • Personally tested Guchuan in hand-to-hand combat and judged his lack of real combat experience. 4
  • Uses firearms to enforce discipline and threaten Organization members. 130 175
  • Ordered Ireland's execution when police presence made his escape impractical. 150
