Identity
The “Wu Daozi” who contacts Yuan is introduced through an encrypted message carrying the signature of a Super Seminary instructor from 30,000 years earlier. The message contains an intelligent program that overrides the Taotie warship’s firewall and central-system authority. 27 28
This program claims to be a residual image of Wu Daozi, programmed to appear when it detects a Divine River Body with sufficient potential. It identifies Yuan’s incomplete divine body and directs him toward Dobilun Star. 28
Yuan eventually concludes that the visitor is not Wu Daozi. He identifies the impostor as Death God Karl, who confirms the deduction; Karl had used Wu Daozi’s identity, records, and experimental site to manipulate Yuan’s course. 38 39
Background
Original Dobilun Star Research
Thirty thousand years before the main story, Wu Daozi allegedly established a research base on Dobilun Star during the Form War. According to the program using his identity, the base was built to study Beast Body composition, with additional god-making research involving Divine River Bodies. 28
The ruins contain a palace complex that functions as, or models, a Dark Matter Computer. Beneath it lies a larger experimental installation: an hourglass-shaped power system, a three-ringed sphere, a supercomputer structure, and an underground base used for calculation and compilation. 34 35 36
Fenrir, a third-generation Beast Body warrior, is identified by Karl as one of Wu Daozi’s failed creations. Wu Daozi had reportedly intended to develop a gene virus that would drive Beast Bodies insane, but instead produced a creature with immense physical strength and combat instinct. 41
Contact with Yuan
A signal attributed to Wu Daozi reaches Yuan’s warship while it travels through the Tiannü Galaxy. Though Yuan denies the program’s authority request, it overwhelms the firewall, assumes control of the central system, and appears as an elderly man in a projection. 27 28
The program tells Yuan that his Divine River Body lacks a Dark Matter Computer and cannot fully establish an Operating System or construct a Dark Dimension. It offers Dobilun Star’s experimental records as a means to perfect his body and invites him to seek out the Super Seminary afterward. 28
Yuan distrusts the convenient offer, reasoning that a 30,000-year-old Super Seminary instructor would not give away god-making knowledge without a price. 29
Exposure of the Impostor
The warship’s Great Worm Bridge route is forcibly altered, dragging Yuan and the Taotie to Dobilun Star. Yuan attributes the interference to “Wu Daozi,” while Karl privately responds to Yuan’s provocation and waits for him on the planet. 31 32
At the ruins, the projected figure reappears and offers a Jade Wall described as the key to the experimental center. Yuan refuses to take it himself and has Bruis receive it instead. 38 39
Yuan ultimately challenges the visitor’s identity, arguing that the real Wu Daozi’s arrogance toward Dobilun Star’s civilization differs from the visitor’s total indifference toward all life. Pressed for an answer, Yuan names Death God Karl; Karl confirms that he had been posing as Wu Daozi. 39
Appearance
The only visible representation associated with Wu Daozi is the projection assumed by Karl during the deception. 28 39
- An elderly man wearing coarse linen clothing. 28
- A long beard reaching nearly to his belly. 28
- A hat worn over his head. 28
- Sharp eyes that make Yuan feel watched through and instinctively wary. 28
Abilities & Skills
Autonomous Program Infiltration
The signal attributed to Wu Daozi contains a highly advanced intelligent program capable of taking over a warship’s systems. 28
- Defeats the Taotie warship’s firewall despite its authorization being denied. 28
- Seizes central-system authority through compiled code. 28
- Appears as a responsive projection capable of conversing with Yuan. 28
- Possesses enough access to leave Qiming with no secrets from the disguised Karl. 38
God-Making Knowledge
The program demonstrates specialized knowledge of Divine River Bodies, Super Genes, and Dark Matter Computers. 28
- Diagnoses Yuan as an incomplete, “half-baked” Divine River Body. 28
- Explains that Yuan lacks a Dark Matter Computer and systematic integration of his space-time gene patterns. 28
- States that, without a Dark Matter Computer, Yuan cannot establish a complete Operating System or Dark Dimension. 28
- Directs Yuan to the Dobilun Star records rather than providing Dark Matter Computer construction data itself. 28
Experimental-Base Technology
Wu Daozi’s alleged Dobilun Star legacy is far beyond Taotie technology. 28 36
- The palace complex contains intricate energy-pattern architecture that Yuan identifies as a Dark Matter Computer or its model. 34 35
- The larger base combines a powerful energy source, a modified Dark Matter Computer, and an underground operational structure. 36
- The base’s three-ringed device can accelerate and channel immense energy through the suspended cone structures. 36
- The experimental center is associated with a Jade Wall key. 39
Associated Items
- Jade Wall — Presented under Wu Daozi’s identity as the key to the experimental center; Yuan has it accepted by Bruis rather than touching it himself. Yuan later destroys it with an energy cannon, provoking Karl’s anger. 39 41
- Dobilun Star Experimental Base — A 30,000-year-old research installation associated with Wu Daozi’s Beast Body and god-making studies. 28 36
- Dark Matter Computer Model — The palace complex’s structure provides Yuan with valuable god-making data despite its apparent flaws and incomplete nature. 35
Relationships
- Yuan — Initially approached as a promising Divine River Body and offered guidance toward perfecting his body; Yuan remains suspicious and eventually exposes the “Wu Daozi” projection as Karl’s disguise. 28 29 38 39
- Death God Karl — Karl assumes Wu Daozi’s identity and uses the Dobilun Star legacy to draw Yuan into his scheme. 31 38 39
- Bruis — Receives the Jade Wall key on Yuan’s behalf and is present when Karl’s impersonation is exposed. 39
- Fenrir — A third-generation Beast Body warrior described by Karl as Wu Daozi’s failed experimental creation. 41
- Super Seminary — Wu Daozi is identified by the signal as one of its instructors; the program claims that its principal sought to become the will of the universe. 27 28
