Background / History

The Witch Clan originates from Pangu’s bloodline. Its first generation consists of the Twelve Ancestral Witches; Wu Tian’s emergence from a blood cocoon in Pangu Hall creates an unprecedented thirteenth Ancestral Witch. Unlike the others, Wu Tian possesses knowledge of the future grand trend and immediately seeks to prevent the clan’s predicted destruction in the Witch-Demon conflict. 1 3

Early growth centers on the Blood Pool. Following Wu Tian’s advice, the Ancestral Witches avoid direct involvement in the three-clan war, instead purifying battlefields, absorbing baleful qi, and collecting corpses to replenish the Blood Pool. Heaven and Earth recognize this work with merit, while the expanding pool produces the clan’s first major generation of warriors. 6 7

The clan is formally established at Mount Buzhou after the Ancestral Witches proclaim their duty to operate Laws, safeguard Mount Buzhou, and perfect the Primordial World. Its founding receives exceptional recognition: the Great Dao manifests, the Pangu True Form appears through the Twelve Divine Heavens Great Sorcery Formation, and the clan’s River of Fortune gains the “Witch” rune. 47 49

Under Wu Tian’s direction, the Witch Clan shifts from an exclusively confrontational force into a faction that accumulates merit, controls fortune, develops divine offices, protects the Human Race, and prepares multiple retreats and strongholds against future calamities. 6 111 211 231

Organization and Society

  • Ancestral Witches — The clan’s supreme leadership and embodiments of major Laws. Dijiang acts as eldest brother and principal leader, while Wu Tian increasingly directs long-term policy with Dijiang’s trust. 1 112
  • Great Witches — The clan’s principal warrior class. Chi You, Xing Tian, Kua Fu, Hou Yi, Jiufeng, and others serve as its early backbone and later receive direct cultivation support from Wu Tian. 7 1138
  • Law-based tribal divisions — The Ancestral Witches divide clansmen by the Laws they possess, guiding each group’s cultivation separately. 7
  • Thirteen major tribes — After the Human Race’s creation, Wu Tian plans to administer the Human Race as the thirteenth major tribe while retaining its distinct development. 237 238
  • Blood Pool birth system — Early Witch Clan members are born from the Blood Pool rather than conventional reproduction. The clan later preserves the pool as a last-resort foundation while Human-Witch intermarriage offers a more sustainable lineage. 7 246

Abilities & Resources

Physical Cultivation and Baleful Qi

Witches possess formidable bodies and cultivate primarily through physical tempering, baleful qi, and—among weaker members—blood food.

  • Ancestral and Great Witches can cultivate through the turbid baleful qi between Heaven and Earth. 51
  • Ordinary members require blood food, creating an inherent source of friction with the Demon Race. 51 120
  • The clan is naturally suited to absorb and purify Killing Intent, making it a recognized cleaner of the Primordial Wilderness. 6
  • Their body and soul are tightly bound, ordinarily preventing the birth of Primordial Spirits and limiting their path toward the Primal Chaos Grand Dao. 833

Essence Blood Bestowal

Ancestral Witch essence blood is the clan’s orthodox means of helping members cross their bodily limits.

  • Refining an Ancestral Witch’s essence blood can grant or deepen the recipient’s connection to a corresponding Law. 2
  • Wu Tian uses a drop of his own essence blood to help Chi You break through an otherwise insurmountable bottleneck. 1099
  • Wu Tian later grants essence blood to Xing Tian, Kua Fu, Hou Yi, Jiufeng, and other Great Witches before their advancement to the Primordial Origin realm. 1138

Twelve Divine Heavens Great Sorcery Formation

The clan’s greatest collective formation combines the Ancestral Witches’ power to summon the Pangu True Form.

  • It can draw Pangu’s aura from Mount Buzhou, reducing the pressure required to sustain the Pangu True Form. 47
  • Wu Tian proposes linking the formation to Mount Buzhou only in a crisis, making an attack on the formation potentially endanger the pillar of the Primordial World. 14
  • The formation remains a core deterrent against the Three Pure Ones, the Demon Race, and the Heavenly Dao Sages. 94 248

Fortune and the Pangu Seal

The Witch Clan’s fortune is represented by the “Witch” Great Dao rune granted at its founding.

  • Pangu Hall and the Hongmeng Measuring Ruler originally suppress the clan’s fortune. 47
  • The Pangu Seal incorporates the “Witch” rune and gains authority to mobilize the clan’s collective fortune. 155 158
  • The seal becomes closely tied to the Human Race after the two races’ fortunes merge. 235 236

Divine Path Network

The clan participates in establishing Mountain Gods and Earth Gods across the Primordial World.

  • Mountain and Earth Gods function as a wide-area network for intelligence, local protection, and potential Ancestral Witch summoning coordinates. 111
  • The Earth Book serves as the divine registry, while the Witch Clan’s Laws and Pangu Seal underpin the divine records. 291 301
  • Human tribes use this network to call upon nearby gods for defense against surrounding threats. 301

Equipment / Sacred Sites

  • Pangu Hall — Sacred hall transformed from Pangu’s heart; serves as the clan’s central stronghold, formation anchor, and fortune-suppressing treasure. 14 47
  • Mount Buzhou — Clan grounds and the pillar of the Primordial World; its Pangu aura can empower the Twelve Divine Heavens Great Sorcery Formation. 47
  • Blood Pool — Produces Witch Clan members and is replenished through corpses and accumulated blood essence. 7
  • Pangu Seal — Wu Tian’s fortune treasure, formed with the Witch Clan’s Great Dao rune and capable of mobilizing clan fortune. 155 158
  • Hongmeng Measuring Ruler — A treasure declared alongside Pangu Hall to suppress the clan’s fortune. 47
  • Origin Realm — Wu Tian’s protected internal realm, used as a refuge, cultivation ground, and later a destination for the clan during looming warfare. 211 423
  • Innate Five Elements Grand Formation — A concealed defensive formation erected with the five precious banners and hidden within the Twelve Divine Heavens Great Array of Gods and Demons. 166

Relationships

  • Pangu — Revered progenitor. The clan identifies itself as Pangu’s blood descendants, treats Mount Buzhou and Pangu Hall as sacred legacies, and invokes Pangu in major oaths. 14 47
  • Human Race — Protected allied race and later the clan’s thirteenth major tribe in Wu Tian’s plan. Their fortunes merge, and the Witch Clan becomes a vehicle for the Human Dao. 237 238 390
  • Zhen Yuanzi and Hongyun — Close allies regarded as the Witch Clan’s “unofficial brothers.” Zhen Yuanzi cooperates with the clan’s Mountain and Earth God plan through the Earth Book. 72 111 291
  • Queen Mother of the West — Protected ally. Wu Tian publicly promises the Witch Clan’s protection after using a rumor to separate her politically from the Duke of the East. 132
  • Demon Race — Natural rival due to the clan’s use of Demon Beasts as blood food, though both sides repeatedly restrain open conflict. The two sides later form another alliance under Wu Tian’s command. 51 120 832
  • Three Pure Ones — Recurring rivals, especially after the clan intercepts opportunities and forces Tongtian to surrender Formation Dao insights. 142 147
  • Styx — Outer-circle affiliate who joins the Witch Clan to repay karma and avoid death; Wu Tian retains Styx’s Twelfth Grade Red Lotus of Karma as a battle trophy. 289 290
  • Empress Pingxin — Houtu’s Underworld identity and an advisor to Wu Tian. She encourages him to recognize that the Witch Clan can belong to the Human Dao. 357

Story Role / Major Arcs

Early Development and Formal Founding

Wu Tian persuades the Ancestral Witches to avoid premature war, purify battlefields, expand through the Blood Pool, and establish the Witch Clan only after the three-clan conflict subsides. The formal founding brings Great Dao favor and gives the clan an exceptional foundation before the Demon Race is established. 5 7 38 47

Preventing the Clan’s Predicted Destruction

Knowing that the original Witch-Demon conflict ends in mutual ruin, Wu Tian develops safeguards: linking the Twelve Divine Heavens Great Sorcery Formation to Mount Buzhou in emergencies, accumulating fortune treasures, and considering withdrawal into the Underworld or Origin Realm. 3 14 155 231

Conflicts with Major Primordial Factions

The clan’s aggressive reputation grows through confrontations with the Three Pure Ones, Jieyin and Zhunti, the Duke of the East, and the Dragon Clan. Wu Tian increasingly combines the Ancestral Witches’ military pressure with negotiation, rumors, compensation demands, and political manipulation. 102 108 130 134 147 200 201

Protection and Integration of the Human Race

Wu Tian guides Nüwa toward creating humanity, then shields the new race from outside interference. Human and Witch fortunes merge, Human-Witch descendants appear, and Great Witches help oversee the Human Race’s early growth. 231 238 246 306

Human Dao and Later Tribulations

The Witch Clan supports the Human Dao’s early emergence with its fortune, Laws, and influence over divine offices. Though it retreats from direct governance of the Primordial World, it remains a decisive force during later tribulations, including the Investiture of the Gods conflict. 390 476 832
