Background
Founding and supremacy
The Four Divine Beasts were nurtured in the Sky Sacrifice Mountain Range during the beginning of heaven and earth. They later formed a small group and established the Four Divine Beast Families around their shared bloodlines. With four Lord God ancestors, the families became exceptionally wealthy, politically influential, and widely regarded as the foremost family across the planes. 62
Their branches spread through the major divine and supreme planes as well as many Material Planes. Six-star and Seven-star Demon members commonly possessed Sovereign Power, while even some Five-star Demons carried it as a survival measure. 30
The founders kept their true bodies hidden and usually remained together in Space Turbulence. Other Sovereigns coveted their essence blood and combined Innate Divine Ability, making separation dangerous. 62
Pursuit of the Fallen Realm Token
The families pursued the Fallen Realm Token after remnants of the Talin Family obtained it. Vermillion Bird elder Makram, a Seven-star Demon, slaughtered dozens of Talin High-Gods while searching for the token, but failed to find it among their spatial rings. 30
Their agents later confronted Lin En over a Talin Family remnant and demanded access to his Spatial Ring. They threatened that offending the Four Divine Beast Families would leave him with nowhere to escape across the planes. 35
Makram continued pursuing Lin En even after inspecting his ring and finding no token. The confrontation escalated into open hostility, eventually leading Lin En to kill a Vermillion Bird Clan Seven-star Demon elder. 37 62
Conflict with Lin En
The death of their elder initially prompted the families to dispatch further experts against Lin En. After learning of his strength and of the competition between Lord Gods to recruit him, they recalled their commanders and stopped directly provoking him. 62
The conflict intensified after Lin En became the Dark Sovereign. The Four Divine Beasts believed he had taken the Dark Main Godhead that should have been theirs after their battle with Mode, and they resolved to kill him once he was separated from the Death Sovereign. 76 93
They eventually ambushed Lin En, destroyed a ten-thousand-mile area of the Dark God Realm, and dragged him into Space Turbulence. Their combined Innate Divine Ability failed to kill him; Lin En broke free and killed the Black Tortoise, White Tiger, Vermillion Bird, and Azure Dragon in rapid succession. He claimed their bodies, vital blood, and four Low Lordhead Sparks. 97
Collapse and annihilation
News of the Four Divine Beasts’ deaths triggered revenge across the planes. Long-oppressed enemies attacked the family branches, forcing the survivors to retreat toward Hell. Every branch outside Hell was destroyed during the withdrawal. 99
The Eight Great Families pursued the survivors to Azure Mansion. Dannington initially intervened on the Destruction Sovereign’s orders, forbidding the attackers from entering within a million kilometers of the Sky Sacrifice Mountain Range and temporarily preserving the remaining clansmen. 99
Millions of years later, Qing Huo arrived under Lin En’s command with three squads of Twelve-Winged Fallen Angels to support the Eight Great Families. The defenders had no remaining commander-level experts, while the attackers fielded more than a dozen commanders; the battle became one-sided. 109
Dannington attempted to stop the assault, but withdrew after learning that Qing Huo acted for Lin En. The Eight Great Families continued the extermination while Qing Huo’s forces seized the ancestral bloodline-awakening resources and collected the vital blood of fallen family members. 110 111 112
Bloodline Arts and Resources
Ancestral Temple Baptism
The Four Divine Beasts developed the Ancestral Temple Baptism, a bloodline-awakening process centered on lineage-specific pools, crystals, and other materials.
- It awakened dormant divine-beast bloodlines in descendants and enabled them to gain corresponding Innate Divine Abilities. 105 123
- Bloodline-awakened descendants could become Gods upon reaching adulthood and possessed elemental talent comparable to divine beasts. 123
- The Azure Dragon lineage used a Dragon Transformation Pool and Dragon Transformation Crystals; equivalent ancestral resources existed for the other three lineages. 110 122
- The process greatly improved a descendant’s body, soul, strength, and defense, but made reproduction more difficult. 123
Individual Innate Divine Abilities
The four clan abilities could be used independently by descendants:
- Dragon’s Roar — Azure Dragon Clan ability. 100 123
- Tiger Roar — White Tiger Clan ability; its sound-based effect could disrupt opponents’ souls and was useful even in Lord God battles. 39 41
- Phoenix Flame — Vermillion Bird Clan ability. 100
- Sky Covering — Black Tortoise Clan ability. 100
Bloodline purity determined their strength. Ordinary descendants could not necessarily manifest a full divine-beast phantom even as High-Gods, while descendants carrying a drop of original Four Divine Beast essence blood could do so as Demigods. 123
Combined Innate Divine Ability
The original Four Divine Beasts could perfectly merge their four abilities into a single soul-targeting attack.
- The fusion halted nearby time and space and produced a hazy circular force capable of destroying a Sovereign’s defense. 76
- Its effect was compared to a fusion of four Exotic Profound Mysteries with a millionfold amplification. 95
- The combined attack was strong enough to kill ordinary Sovereigns; it was the reason the four founders were treated as Sovereign-level combatants despite being Low Lord Gods. 62 98
- Descendants of the four clans could not reproduce the fusion. Even when four captured High-Gods used their abilities together, the techniques remained separate. 100
Relationships
- Azure Dragon, White Tiger, Vermillion Bird, and Black Tortoise — The four Low Lord God progenitors and source of the families’ bloodlines, authority, and combined Innate Divine Ability 62 76.
- Gaisreisen — Patriarch of the Azure Dragon Clan; communicated with Azure Dragon and oversaw the family during its decline 62 99.
- Makram — Vermillion Bird Clan elder and Seven-star Demon; hunted the Fallen Realm Token and slaughtered Talin Family High-Gods 30 36.
- Lin En / Linley — Principal enemy; killed a Vermillion Bird elder, later slew all four founders, and ordered the families’ final destruction 62 97 109.
- Eight Great Families — Longstanding enemies who led the pursuit, siege, and eventual extermination of the families 99 109.
- Dannington — Initially protected the surviving families under the Destruction Sovereign’s command, but failed to prevent their final annihilation 99 110 111.
- Utrede — Ordered Dannington to preserve the families and later researched their descendants’ essence blood in an attempt to replicate their combined ability 99 117.
Legacy
Lin En’s forces seized the Four Divine Beast Families’ Ancestral Temple, Dragon Transformation Pools, Dragon Transformation Crystals, and related bloodline-awakening resources during the final campaign. 110 112
He later used the original Four Divine Beasts’ essence blood to transform four descendants—Bomo, Ebers, Roland, and Belon—into the foundation of a new “Four Divine Beast family.” After undergoing the Ancestral Temple Baptism, the four gained their respective divine-beast bloodlines and Innate Divine Abilities. 122 123
