Background / History

Linley was originally the eldest son of Duke Pelakos Harrington of the Magat Kingdom, an eighth-level warrior praised as his generation's greatest talent. He trained under the Saint Domain expert Desman, the Grayrock Sword Saint, and cultivated Desman's Grayrock Codex. Before reaching thirty, he had already advanced to the eighth rank. 1

An Orc Saint Domain mage destroyed Custer City, killing Linley's wife Alice and their children. While recovering from a soul injury at Grayrock Manor, Linley recovered memories of a thirty-year life on Earth that ended in a traffic accident. From those memories, he recognized his world as the Coiling Dragon setting and concluded that his deceased family could be reborn in the Underworld. He resolved to become strong enough to seek the Death Sovereign's help in restoring them. 1

Driven by this goal, Linley entered the Dark Mountain Range to accelerate his cultivation. He acquired the God Devouring Rat bloodline, the Water of Life, Black Flame Stone, and other resources, then reached the Saint Domain within half a year. 3 7 8

After becoming a god, Linley killed the Beast God, exterminated the Saint Domain archmage responsible for Custer City's destruction, and helped establish the Harrington Empire with Pelakos as its first emperor. He later left the Orlando Plane for Hell, seeking Godheads, Divine Artifacts, combat experience, and greater comprehension of the Laws. 20 21 27

Linley is usually depicted in black robes or a black shirt, with long hair and a cold, composed bearing. His appearance becomes increasingly imposing as his cultivation and status rise. 55 63

Personality

Linley's central motivation is his determination to restore Alice and his family. The destruction of Custer City leaves him grieving and vengeful, but it also gives his cultivation a clear purpose: reaching a level where he can negotiate with the Death Sovereign. 1 60

He is generally calm under provocation. He refuses Makram's demands to inspect his memories, stays composed during the ambush arranged by Makram and the Floating Light Demon, and does not bend to pressure from the Four Divine Beast Families. 37 47

Linley can be ruthless when he views someone as a threat. He kills hostile gods, bandits, Lidovia and her followers, the Four Divine Beasts, Hurley, and Utrede without hesitation once peaceful options are exhausted. 23 56 97 103 120

Despite this ruthlessness, he is devoted to family, respectful toward Desman, and willing to reward loyal subordinates. He supports the Harrington Family's relocation to Hell, equips relatives with powerful artifacts, and protects Kania while teaching her the Dark Element Laws. 21 64 94 114
