History

Origins and early political structure

A muscular Daming soldier, Lu Sheng, became the first person on Earth to obtain a card after falling into a rift and fighting Secret Realm demons barehanded. His achievement reversed Daming's situation against the barbarians; by the present era, the dynasty had endured for more than six centuries 1.

After stabilizing, Daming discovered that a neighboring small country had already fallen and become a Demon Country following the descent of a fox-like great demon 1.

Although it retained the form of an imperial dynasty, the Imperial Court was described as a ceremonial “mascot,” while actual power rested with the cabinet 1. The Court later maintained a visible presence in some areas, but the Card Master Association handled public security in unstable cities such as Shanghai 90.

Association rule

Tensions between the Court and the Association became increasingly apparent during Lu Su's rise, including the Court's absence from major public events and its lack of support for him compared with the Association 90.

Ye Zhou formally dissolved the Imperial Court and announced that the Association would rule Great Ming 321. The former emperor, Zhu Zhongjing, subsequently retained symbolic value in diplomatic matters despite no longer ruling the country 374.

The Four Calamity Gods crisis

Daming faced a national crisis when Jin Ping's faction helped stabilize a third Secret Realm and enabled the descent of the Four Calamity Gods. Ye Zhou used an overwhelming attack that evaporated the sea around Shanghai City, but died from the injuries it caused 368.

Lu Su returned during the crisis, used the Spirit King to halt the Four Calamity Gods' descent, and captured Jin Ping, the Skin Peeler, and two Master Grade demons 369. He then used the Spirit King to heal surviving Daming Card Masters and restore the devastated coastline 370.

Ye Zhou's death received a nationally broadcast state funeral attended by foreign envoys; Lu Su represented Daming among the four Master Grade Card Masters present 378.

Governance and national defense

Card Master leadership

• Ye Zhou — Daming's sole Hall of Fame Grade Card Master before his death; he dissolved the Court, led the Association's new order, and died combating the third Secret Realm crisis 321 334 368.
• Lu Su — Publicly announced as a Master Grade Card Master while still Diamond Grade to strengthen national morale; later truly advanced to Master Grade and became Daming's leading defender 359 370.
• Bai Yueming, Ji Weirui, and Fang Wenlong — Master Grade Card Masters who form Daming's senior leadership and repeatedly coordinate national defense with Lu Su 359 368.
• Card Master Association — Oversees public security, Secret Realm incidents, local branches, rewards, and military responses to demon threats 90 156.

Territorial and foreign affairs

• Tsardom of Russia — A major partner against the Demon Army. Daming and the Tsardom coordinated a joint campaign, later exchanged Hall of Fame Grade materials, and negotiated territorial division in the former Demon Army regions 348 380 391.
• Goryeo — Its king requested formal integration into Daming after demon occupation devastated the peninsula. Daming considered the proposal favorably and later managed Goryeo's annexation affairs 377 380.
• Indo-American Federation — After Lu Su defeated its leadership following Adley's sealing, the Federation became a vassal state of Daming and surrendered half of its material reserves 406.
• Great Britain — Requested Daming's support against a Master Grade Secret Realm crisis. Daming agreed to send Lu Su after discussing the appropriate terms and escort arrangements 391.
• Mughal Empire — Relations deteriorated after Hall of Fame Card Master Motiān repeatedly provoked Daming during Ye Zhou's funeral. Daming later monitored the Mughal Empire's own Hall of Fame Grade Secret Realm crisis 375 378 410.

Major events

• Demon Army campaign — Daming and Tsardom of Russia annihilated the Demon Army, with Lu Su's actions credited for killing its commanders 359.
• Goryeo operation — Lu Su, Fang Wenlong, and several Diamond Grade Card Masters entered Goryeo to eliminate a Master Grade demon organizing the local demon population 363.
• Third Secret Realm battle — Ye Zhou sacrificed himself during the attempt to stop a new Secret Realm; Lu Su subsequently prevented the Four Calamity Gods from fully descending 368 369.
• Indo-American Federation submission — Lu Su compelled the Federation to become a Daming vassal state after its remaining leadership capitulated 406.
• Four Calamity Gods containment — With Shirayuki's assistance, Daming confined the Four Calamity Gods within a Secret Realm, though Lu Su remained wary of their eventual return 411.
