Development

Battle Armor originated when Scorpion Mozi adapted the armor of his personal Peace Watcher mech for Soul Master use. The first completed force was displayed during Jixia Academy’s first-year military parade: every combat Soul Master stood beside an individual, undonned set of armor in the academy’s underground Mechanical Way parade ground 58.

Its production linked Mohist Mechanical City, where the armor was manufactured, with Jixia Academy, where the corps was trained and assembled 58 59. The armor gave Chang'an a way to turn a force largely composed of lower-ranked Soul Masters into a strategic army capable of confronting much stronger opponents.

Repeated campaigns inflicted major losses on early Battle Armor units. By the Heaven Dou internal conflict, only 500 Battle Armor troops remained available in the imperial capital; they were survivors of Han Xin’s earlier palace-raiding force 86. Nevertheless, continued academy training eventually rebuilt the force to 100,000 soldiers 139.

Captured sets eventually allowed Xing Luo Empire and Spirit Hall to establish Battle Armor forces of their own, ending Chang'an’s technological monopoly 139.

Battle Armor is sturdy mech armor designed for Soul Masters. Its appearance varies between sets, but deployed units are described as clad in gleaming armor of many colors, with a uniform, imposing presence when assembled in formation 145.
