Night Talk in the Common Room
Loren and Hermione sat down next to the two. Hermione asked curiously, "Harry, did you go to Headmaster Professor Trelawney's office to tell him about the Prophecy? What did Headmaster Dumbledore say?"
Harry slowly came to his senses, paused for a moment, and then slowly recounted what had happened. Finally, with a complicated expression, he concluded, "Dumbledore... didn't seem to say anything..."
Ron retorted in a low voice, "No, he said a lot, but it just sounded like he didn't say anything."
The two whispered about the trivial matters, Ron finally complained indignantly, "That's how adults are, they always treat us like children and don't want to tell us anything! Harry heard the Prophecy first, and we were willing to share it with him..."
Loren shrugged at Hermione, looking like he knew it.
Suddenly, Neville's voice came from the side. "You guys are finally back... Phew... Come on, I've brought out the rest of the snacks!"
Loren and the others turned around and could vaguely see Neville's magic robe behind the small mountain of snacks. He swayed over, carrying the mountain of snacks, and with a slight bend, all sorts of snacks and candies tumbled onto the table between them.
Pink Coconut Ice Cake glittered with a bright, sparkling light; a stack of boxes containing Licorice Wands and cockroaches stood side by side; and the sweet aroma of Fizzing Whizzbees filled the air...
"Wow..."
Ron took a breath, his eyes lighting up. He plunged his hands into the pile of snacks and exclaimed, "I don't care anymore! Even if Dumbledore were to come to me now to discuss a plan to deal with Voldemort, I'd still stuff all of these into my stomach first."
Neville stood to the side grinning.
Loren opened a box of Cockroach Clusters and handed it to Hermione, who pushed it away in disgust. He then handed it to Harry, Harry reluctantly ate a few.
Chewing on the candy, feeling the juice burst in his mouth, Harry sighed contentedly, a wave of emotions washing over him. He leaned back on the sofa and murmured, "Third year is over..."
"To be precise, it's still a week away from ending."
Ignoring Hermione's inappropriate seriousness, Harry continued with a sigh, "Next year we'll be fourth year."
"Click-clack..."
Loren bit into a Cockroach Clusters and crushed it.
"Crack, crack..."
Ron and Neville bit off the Licorice Wands.
Even Hermione started tasting the Fizzing Whizzbees.
Hearing the constant sounds of snacking around him, Harry paused, held his breath, and raised his voice. "It's amazing, my friends, that we've already spent three years at Hogwarts— "
"Loren, wanna play cards?"
Seamus walked over shouting, "Playing with them is no fun! Nobody takes it seriously. They just want to see me get bombed!"
Dean followed beside him, holding Exploding Snap and Gobstones, his loud voice easily drowning out Harry's sentiments.
Loren and Ron responded immediately:
"Beat!"
Count me in!
"..."
Harry looked somewhat distressed.
A card-playing area was quickly cleared on the table, and Seamus's cries of pain and the laughter of others soon blended into the overall atmosphere of the Common Room, making it even more lively than Halloween party.
At the card table, Seamus's performance was as consistent as ever. He was bombarded with cards after only a couple of rounds and couldn't take it anymore. In the end, he fled in a sorry state to play Gobstones.
Even Hermione played a few rounds.
With exams over, the year's homework, memorization, copying, and practical exercises are all behind the young wizards. The grades are still uncertain, and the summer homework hasn't been handed out yet. This is almost the most relaxing time of the year.
It wasn't until after midnight that the noise and laughter in the Common Room subsided somewhat.
Ron carefully stacked the cards and put them into the box, then breathed a sigh of relief after making sure there was no explosion. He sat down and turned to ask, "Loren, Hermione, what are your plans for the holidays?"
Loren held a Chips to Hermione's lips, looking at him with some confusion. "Why don't you ask Harry?"
"I've already told him my plans..." Harry explained. "I'll be staying with my aunt and uncle for a month, as I promised Headmaster Dumbledore."
"But...you last year...didn't you..." Hermione gestured, indicating that he had a falling out with his uncle and ran away from home last year.
Harry shrugged. "I received their Christmas gift, some banknotes and a greeting card, which I guess signifies reconciliation."
He continued to describe his holiday plans, "If everything goes smoothly and I don't brag about any of my relatives, I'll probably stay on Privet Drive until school starts... If things don't go so well, I might go stay at the Leaky Cauldron for a while. To be honest, I had a pretty good time there."
"You can't stay at the Leaky Cauldron!" Ron exclaimed excitedly, grabbing his neck and shaking him vigorously on the shoulders. "You have to come with us to the Quidditch World Cup!"
Harry hurriedly covered his glasses. "The Quidditch World Cup?"
"You'll see!" Ron said smugly, turning to look at the other side. "And you two, Loren and Hermione, my parents have been wanting to invite you to our house for ages!"
"Sorry, Ron." Loren fed Hermione a Cream Almond Candy. "We're planning to go to United States this summer to check out the International Confederation of Wizards."
Ron waved his hand dismissively. "There's no conflict. The Quidditch World Cup will start after the International Confederation of Wizards has finished, and my dad is the head of the Misuse of Muggle Artefacts Office. He'll be at the International Confederation of Wizards, and he might even speak as a representative."
Mr. Weasley and the International Confederation of Wizards... it's really hard to connect them.
Loren nodded. "Okay, please thank your parents for the invitation."
"Actually..." Neville, who had been silent, suddenly spoke up, "My mom and dad are also going to United States. They're going to capture that female Death Eater, Bellatrix Lestrange."
"Go capture Bellatrix! Good heavens!"
Ron's eyes widened in disbelief. "Just the two of them, Neville? I mean, they learned their lesson many years ago. They should be better prepared this time, like calling in the United States Aurors, don't you think?"
Hermione looked at him with concern. "Yes, Neville, perhaps you don't know yet, Bellatrix and her master Voldemort are over there, plotting some conspiracy, and there may be vicious Werewolf wizards and bad guys from the Crabbe family helping them."
The atmosphere among them suddenly became somewhat tense, and everyone looked at Neville nervously.
Since his parents regained consciousness, Neville suddenly shone with dazzling brilliance. He became no longer timid and shy, no longer clumsy and forgetful, and displayed extraordinary talent in many areas, being the first to summon a physical Patronus and the first to complete Animagus...
Everyone has witnessed Neville's transformation. They may not have met Neville's parents, but they don't want Neville to become like he used to be.
Loren picked up his glass, took a sip of the chilled Pumpkin Juice, and fell into deep thought.
The Lumbard couple are veteran Aurors and core members of the Order of the Phoenix; their strength should be considerable, comparable to Bellatrix Lestrange. Their attack many years ago was partly due to the enemy being in the dark while they were in the light...
However, this time, they were still in the dark while the enemy was in the light, and coupled with the unfamiliar environment, it seemed like they had no chance of winning.
I wonder if Dumbledore knew about this, and whether he would stop that reckless couple.
Based on this, the Lumbard couple must have been Gryffindor too...
Neville's lips were pressed tightly together. After a long silence, he said solemnly, "Thank you. I will tell them about this, and I will also tell my grandmother!"
The group breathed a sigh of relief.
Seamus and Dean sat silently to the side, quietly shrinking into the corner. They exchanged a glance, then quickly looked away.
Is this what the Champion are chatting about?
Hey, that's exciting!
There will be another update at midnight. Work has been busy at the end of the year, so updates may be irregular. I sincerely apologize to all my readers.
I'll definitely update more during the holidays! [Seriously (and ridiculously)]
