Ch. 184Sordil the Incompetent

Yelibell resolved to prove herself worthy of Sordil, then helped him locate and rescue the survivor Katro from a pit. Sordil expelled the destructive power in Katro’s body and healed him, while King of Babaronza began explaining that the group were not the Evil Dragons Katro feared.

  • Yelibell woke, recovered her memories, and resolved to prove she could become a good wife to Sordil.
  • Yelibell led Sordil to a badly injured survivor in a pit, where Sordil used Healing Magic but could not fully treat him.
  • Grandiere found that a special power inside the survivor was destroying his body, and said she could not remove it.
  • Sordil used Light Restoration Technique: Primordial to expel the Black Mist, then healed the survivor; his severed limbs remained missing.
  • The survivor, Katro, woke and attacked Sordil, mistaking the group for Evil Dragons, so Sordil restrained him and asked King of Babaronza to explain.
  • Sordil teased Igneel for doubting him, while Igneel pretended to search for whoever had doubted Sordil.

Ch. 185Clouds of Suspicion and Surprise

Sordil and Igneel put their prank-fueled quarrel aside to question the survivors of the Western Continent dragons’ attack, uncovering a puzzling account of a bluish-white sphere crashing into the harbor. When Yelibell openly defended Sordil, he struggled to respond without hurting her or compromising his family.

  • Sordil tricked Igneel into drinking chili sauce, leaving his lips swollen and bright red, and Igneel chased him until they agreed to postpone their sparring match.
  • Katro apologized to Sordil and described the Western Continent dragons’ invasion of the town.
  • Katro said a bluish-white sphere had crashed into the harbor before the attack, and that the invading dragons had attacked it but none had emerged from it.
  • Igneel questioned why Sordil kept asking about the sphere, and Yelibell and Grandiere both told him not to interrupt Sordil.
  • Sordil realized Yelibell might have feelings for him and agonized over how to respond without embarrassing her or betraying his existing commitments.

Ch. 186Ambush

Sordil organized a plan to track and trap the evil dragons of the Western Continent, while Mevajena secured his promise to help her with one future task. The group prepared to split up and use a Spatial Teleportation Array for communication and reinforcements, though Sordil had yet to explain how it would work.

  • Mevajena helped Sordil redirect the discussion toward fighting the evil dragons, then made him promise to do one thing for her whenever she asked.
  • Sordil reasoned that the dragons had left town unexpectedly and proposed searching for them while keeping them in Ishgar.
  • Igneel interrupted Sordil, then got teased by Metalicana and Yesveta and was assigned to serve tea and give massages as punishment.
  • Sordil proposed leaving some people in town to lie in wait while others joined King of Babaronza to search nearby territory, with both groups waiting to assemble before attacking.
  • Yelibell pointed out the groups might not be able to communicate or reinforce each other, and Sordil said he had a way to make the Spatial Teleportation Array work.

Ch. 187Extermination (Part 1)

Sordil developed Space Magic Crystals and arranged a teleportation network so the allies could coordinate their ambush against the dragons from the Western Continent. He brought Oddek to guard the bunker’s Teleportation Array while he and the King of Babaronza went to gather troops, as Selisliu chose to pursue Black Mist before returning to the Western Continent.

  • Sordil distributed Space Magic Crystals and explained that their limited stored Space Magic made long-distance teleportation risky.
  • After Yelibell questioned how the group would operate the Teleportation Array, Sordil decided to bring General Oddek, his former student, to manage it.
  • Sordil built a hidden Teleportation Array in the bunker, traveled to the Kingdom of Donagunov, and returned with Oddek.
  • Sordil and the King of Babaronza left to mobilize troops while Oddek stayed with the infiltration team to guard the array and await the dragons.
  • Selisliu refused to return immediately to Artek Kars because he wanted to find Black Mist, but sent two subordinates ahead to prepare for their return to the Western Continent.

Ch. 188Extermination (Part 2)

Glaide led his subordinates to Ishgar under Goodpes's orders while secretly nurturing their resentment toward Goodpes and Selisliu. Sordil returned to the search team's base and decided they would attack the dragons gathered in Harbor Town at dawn.

  • Glaide urged his resentful subordinates to hurry and complete Goodpes's five-day mission.
  • Zeref hid from two dragons searching for Black Mist, then resumed wandering through the forest and missed a chance to meet Bandit.
  • Sordil sped with King of Babaronza to a territory, then sent a message to his other self through a Teleportation Array.
  • Igneel teased Sordil about his two wives until Grandiere knocked him into the dirt and dragged him away.
  • Sordil returned to the bunker and learned that seven or eight dragons had gathered in Harbor Town.
  • Sordil postponed the attack until dawn because the dragons might notice the team or escape at dusk.

Ch. 189War Begins

Sordil led the extermination squad in a surprise attack on the evil dragons in town, trapping them and forcing them into battle. Kaldiz confronted the blue-black Great Dragon who had attacked his Star Forest Moon Boat, while Sordil and Igneel agreed to a wager over who would defeat one of the two remaining dragons first.

  • Sordil's squad approached the town under cover of darkness, and Langutai was incapacitated before he could raise the alarm.
  • Sordil signaled the attack, and the twelve members of the squad struck the resting evil dragons with a coordinated breath assault.
  • Sordil swallowed the dragons' counterattack, while Kaldiz Number One and Kaldiz Number Two trapped the fleeing dragons with Death Rhapsody.
  • Kaldiz revealed himself as the master of the Star Forest Moon Boat, and he fought the blue-black Great Dragon who had denied his identity.
  • Igneel proposed a wager with Sordil over who would defeat one of the two intact dragons first, and Sordil accepted and claimed first choice of opponent.

Ch. 190Fish That Slipped Through the Net (Part 1)

Sordil and Igneel divided the enemy dragons between them while Metalicana and the others organized a group attack on the remaining foes. Kaldiz wounded a blue-black dragon and pursued him as he tried to escape, while Sordil finally decided to fight his opponent with full strength.

  • Sordil chose a red dragon to fight, Igneel charged a blue dragon, and Sordil asked Metalicana to capture one enemy alive.
  • Metalicana and the others drew Dragon King cards to decide who would fight, and Murellia, Scylladrum, Grandiere, and Metalicana were assigned to guard duty.
  • Kaldiz trapped a blue-black dragon in his Magic Array, tore off his right arm, and chased him after he tried to escape in a cloud of mist.
  • Sordil and Igneel struggled against their opponents as Sordil's red dragon taunted him about his lazy lifestyle.
  • Sordil said he would stop holding back and fight the red dragon with his full strength.

Ch. 191The Fish That Slipped Through the Net (Part 2)

Sordil and Kaldiz defeated their opponents while Diphiya and the others held the prisoners. After a purple-black dragon stole a tablet and escaped amid a lightning storm, Sordil killed a fleeing black shadow, but the thief remained at large.

  • Sordil transformed into Time Dragon and trapped the red dragon in a box, where he relentlessly attacked him.
  • Igneel and the blue dragon moved away from Sordil’s fight, while Diphiya and the others kept five crippled Evil Dragons prisoner.
  • Kaldiz trapped the blue-black dragon in Demonic Barrier Particles, broke his wing, and buried him underground with a blast of breath.
  • Sordil switched to Iron Dragon Mode, cut the red dragon into an upright Z, and sent him crashing into the earth.
  • The blue dragon surrendered, but a purple-black dragon stole a tablet from his back and vanished after filling the sky with lightning.
  • Sordil absorbed the lightning, then split a fleeing black shadow in two with the Demonic Iron God Sword.

Ch. 192Search for Remaining Enemies

Sordil and Igneel searched for the purple-black dragon after securing the prisoners. Sordil used a Poison Dragon’s ability to hear thoughts to discover the fugitive’s route, and the pair set off after him.

  • Kaldiz reunited with Diphiya and the others, while Grandiere treated the two injured prisoners and Yelibell proposed interrogating them.
  • Sordil and Igneel found the blue dragon they had fought, split in two, and Sordil redirected Igneel’s questions about the red dragon.
  • Sordil listened to nearby thoughts and heard the purple-black dragon plan to escape southwest with a stolen map.
  • Sordil revealed that Poison Dragons could hear creatures’ thoughts and shouts within a dozen or so kilometers, leaving Igneel stunned.
  • Igneel became unusually polite toward Sordil after realizing the ability stayed active constantly.

Ch. 193Chapter 180

Sordil and Igneel tracked Selisliu and ambushed him, but Selisliu escaped again with his Lightning Flash technique. Sordil and Igneel were left chasing after him.

  • Sordil threatened to ration Igneel’s alcohol until the mission ended, and Igneel eagerly agreed to pursue Selisliu.
  • Glaide’s group found two of Selisliu’s subordinates floating in the Ishgar Border Sea and prepared for unknown dangers.
  • Sordil and Igneel ambushed Selisliu near a mountain ridge, and Sordil taunted him over abandoning his soldiers and attacking humans.
  • Selisliu fled after Sordil’s insults, but Igneel struck him with Blazing Strike and punched him into the sky.
  • Selisliu activated Lightning Flash and vanished before Sordil could deliver a finishing blow.

Ch. 194Selisliu's Death (Part One)

Igneel and Sordil cornered Selisliu, but he escaped after unleashing Lightning Cannon. Glaide set off alone toward Ishgar, leaving Hit and the others to prepare their support mission.

  • Igneel and Sordil pursued Selisliu, and Zeref watched the dragons pass before continuing his search for Bandit.
  • Sordil ambushed Selisliu with Ghost Dragon's Roar, and he and Igneel struck him while he was helpless.
  • Selisliu fired Lightning Cannon to repel his pursuers, then fled west with an injured back.
  • Glaide told his subordinates that Selisliu's attack meant the reconnaissance team was in danger and flew toward Ishgar alone.
  • Hit stopped the others from following Glaide and ordered them to rest, conserve their strength, and prepare to cover his mission.

Ch. 195Selisliu's Death (Part 2)

After Sordil swallowed the lightning, he and Igneel pursued Selisliu, who met up with Glaide while fleeing. Glaide killed Selisliu and left him crashing to the ground.

  • Sordil swallowed the remaining purple-black lightning, then entered Poison Dragon Mode and tracked Selisliu with Igneel.
  • Selisliu, badly wounded and alone after his subordinates were captured, tried to escape the pursuing dragons.
  • Glaide arrived to check on Selisliu for Lord Goodpes, and Selisliu warned him that the two pursuers were dangerous.
  • Glaide grabbed Selisliu and fled with him, then stabbed him in the back and said he killed him because Selisliu was blocking his path.

Ch. 196Triumphant Return

Glaide killed Selisliu and took the map he had made, then escaped from Ishgar’s pursuers. Sordil and Igneel realized the map would help the Western Continent’s invasion and hurried back to warn their allies, while Glaide returned to the Koreita dragons with a false account of Selisliu’s death.

  • Glaide killed Selisliu, took his two engraved stone tablets, and left without being seen.
  • Sordil and Igneel found Selisliu dead and realized Glaide had taken his map of the terrain and the distribution of humans and dragons to give to Goodpes.
  • Igneel persuaded Sordil to return to the harbor town and meet Diphiya and the others so they could discuss a response with Irene and Belserion.
  • When Glaide failed to return, the Koreita dragons blamed Hit for stopping them from following their leader.
  • Glaide returned wounded and told Hit that Selisliu and his men had been wiped out, while claiming he had retrieved Selisliu’s map.
  • Glaide and Hit decided to return to Artek Kars to report the mission’s success and avoid Ishgar’s experts.

Ch. 197Teacher Sordil Is Online

Sordil returned to the Kingdom of Donagunov with his allies and reported that a Western Continent force had killed Selisliu and might use a detailed map to seize the western region. Irene and the others feared defeat, but Sordil revealed that the Teleportation Arrays he had established could let them reinforce their troops and resist the invasion.

  • Sordil brought back Selisliu's body and told Kaldiz and the Women's Army that another Western Continent force had killed him.
  • Igneel and Metalicana argued over whether Igneel had advised Sordil to return, until Yelibell explained Metalicana's reason for questioning him.
  • Sordil, Kaldiz, and the others took the prisoners through a Teleportation Array back to the Kingdom of Donagunov.
  • Sordil reunited with Irene, then briefed her, Belserion, Acnologia, and the others on the pursuit and the threat posed by the enemy's map.
  • Irene warned that the enemy could conquer the western region overnight, but Sordil said his Teleportation Arrays would allow them to reinforce their troops across the region.

Ch. 198Preparing for Battle

Sordil organized a broad Space Magic training program and summoned allied forces to prepare for war against the dragons of the Western Continent. Meanwhile, Goodpes learned that the returning Glaide was badly wounded and unconscious, and ordered his subordinates to alert him when Glaide woke.

  • Igneel and Metalicana questioned whether everyone needed to learn Space Magic, and Sordil explained that he would train potential operators from the Western Border Army as well as the others.
  • Sordil and Irene established the Anti-Dragon Class, arranged for allied forces to gather in the royal capital, and ordered Irene to lock up the captives.
  • Anna reminded Sordil about the captives, and he left in silvery-white radiance to retrieve trainees from the Western Border Army.
  • A messenger told Goodpes that Glaide had returned wounded, and Goodpes went to the foot of the mountain to question his healers.
  • Mondel told Goodpes that Glaide was unconscious from blood loss, infected wounds, and fever, and Goodpes ordered him to report as soon as Glaide woke.

Ch. 199The Calm Before the Storm

Dragons across Ishgar mobilized for a coming war with the Western Continent, while the Queen kept the Chancellor from disturbing the recovering king. In Artek Kars, Glaide delivered maps of Ishgar to Goodpes and blamed Sordil for Selisliu’s death and the capture of his squad.

  • A Montes Sacretaa officer told the dragons that Acnologia had summoned them to Donagunov to join the alliance against the Western Continent and seek the main assault position.
  • The Chancellor tried to force his way into the king’s bedchamber, but the Queen emerged, ordered the guards to release him, and sent him away.
  • Goodpes asked about the vanguard for the attack on Ishgar, but Glaide and Hit arrived before he could answer.
  • Glaide gave Goodpes two maps of Ishgar and reported that Selisliu had died and his squad had been captured.
  • Glaide recounted his account of events, falsely claiming that Sordil and another dragon killed Selisliu and wounded him.

Ch. 200Divide Forces into Three Routes (Part 1)

Goodpes accused Ishgar of killing Artek Kars dragons and mobilized forces to attack its coasts. As Sordil taught Teleportation Arrays, a guard summoned him to the palace over an urgent enemy situation at the western border.

  • Goodpes questioned Glaide about Selisliu’s death, then privately admitted to Kelsu that he suspected Glaide had killed Selisliu and planned to keep him as a useful pawn.
  • On July 18, Year X373, Goodpes rallied Artek Kars’s dragons and announced that their forces would attack Ishgar’s northwestern coast, while Kelsu and Delsd led attacks on the western and southwestern coasts.
  • Goodpes’s forces set out for Ishgar, and two other forces departed from separate secret realms for the western and southwestern coastlines.
  • Sordil’s Teleportation Array lesson was interrupted when a guard informed him that Queen Irene had summoned him because of an urgent enemy situation at the western border.
  • Sordil followed the guard to the royal palace and continued considering possible weaknesses in his response strategy.

Ch. 201Three-Pronged Deployment (Part 2)

Sordil and Irene gathered Ishgar’s leaders to respond to the Western Continent dragons, who were advancing in three forces. Sordil proposed concentrating troops against one enemy force while keeping reserves and using the Teleportation Array to reinforce endangered fronts, and the leaders approved the plan before beginning assignments.

  • Irene told the gathered leaders that the Western Continent dragons had split into three forces and were advancing on Ishgar, prompting an argument between the king and leader factions.
  • Sordil and Irene calmed the factions, and Irene explained that civilians and dragons had been evacuated from the Principality of Babaronza’s battlefield areas while Anna had moved nearby water sources with Quality Magic.
  • Sordil proposed gathering troops from two fronts at the third to destroy the weaker enemy force, with the Teleportation Array available to reinforce the other fronts.
  • After a leader asked what would happen if two fronts were endangered at once, Sordil added a reserve force in the royal capital to support one front while troops at the front lines reinforced the other.
  • The leaders approved Sordil’s revised battle plan and began deciding who would stay in the capital and who would go to the front lines.

Ch. 202A Few Matters Before Parting

Sordil assigned the allied forces to their defensive positions while his wife Irene warned him not to flirt or leave her sight. On Ishgar’s western coastline, Glaide discovered the nearby village was abandoned and the river missing, just as Lord Goodpes demanded an explanation.

  • King of Babaronza volunteered for the frontline, but Sordil assured him that Babaronza’s strength would be used where it could best defend Ishgar.
  • Irene warned Sordil to stay within her sight after noticing Yelibell and others watching him, and Sordil returned to the personnel discussion.
  • Sordil assigned Igneel and four others to the northwestern coastline, Acnologia and Belserion to the main battlefield, Fostadu and other secret realms to the southwestern front, and the principalities and several dragons as reserves.
  • Sordil’s team became the assault squad, and Irene warned him not to flirt or let anyone lure him away before he left to prepare for the expedition.
  • Hit reported that the village and river near the western coastline were gone, and Glaide concluded someone had moved them.
  • Lord Goodpes roared at Glaide, demanding to know whether this was the precise intelligence he had provided.

Ch. 203Surprise Attack

Goodpes confronted Glaide over the missing supplies and settlements, then the Koreita Camp came under a surprise attack. Sordil arrived to direct the assault, while Glaide rallied the defenders and realized the attackers were trying to drive them from the camp.

  • Goodpes demanded an explanation from Glaide, who blamed the disappearance of people, food, water sources, and dragons on the same power that had moved the Fostadu secret realm.
  • Goodpes accepted Glaide's account and ordered the troops to halt their advance, hold their stronghold, and bring supplies from the Western Continent.
  • Explosions erupted across Koreita Camp as Sordil arrived by Teleportation Array with Kaldiz and others, and Igneel welcomed him.
  • Sordil warned Igneel not to reveal the Teleportation Array and ordered the fighters to stop pursuing the enemy once they drove them from the high ground.
  • Goodpes, Glaide, and Hit rallied the panicked defenders, while Glaide noticed the attackers were trying to push them out of the camp rather than destroy their formation.
