Crossing the Veil of Death!

At the center of the stone platform stood no grand lectern like the one in the Alchemy Classroom. Instead, there was a raised dais with an archway standing atop it.

The archway looked ancient and utterly dilapidated.

Having weathered so many storms, Moriarty found it strange that it was still standing instead of collapsing.

"Just an ordinary stone door."

"The power of death!"

Moriarty's gaze darkened. With his current strength, it was not difficult for him to see that this place was filled with the aura of death.

A massive amount of death Magic Power had gathered upon the archway.

With no walls supporting it, a tattered black curtain—or veil—hung from the archway.

This was the legendary Veil of Death!

Though the air here was cold and completely windless, it swayed gently, as if someone had just touched it.

It was likewise an ordinary veil, yet it had existed here for countless years.

No one knew when the Veil of Death had first appeared here, nor did anyone know where the other side of the veil led.

The entire room was empty except for Moriarty, but the Light Elemental Magic and Dark Elemental Magic present here proved that Gamp and Light had to be here as well.

Moriarty swept his gaze around the room, his mind calculating rapidly.

The steps were four feet wide. If every stone pit was like this one, and this pit was twelve feet across, with a twenty-foot radius around this platform before reaching the lowest step, then the room had to be at least 132 feet across—nearly half a football field.

Moriarty slowly approached the Veil of Death. At a certain distance away—roughly the distance between a penalty spot and the goal—he heard someone speaking.

Whispers.
