Organization and authority
- Founding arrangement: Second Hokage Tobirama Senju established the force for the Uchiha. The clan held appointment and dismissal rights and needed only to report its decisions to the Hokage 9.
- Squads: The force initially had four squads. Under Kazuna’s rise to leadership, the Uchiha began reorganizing them into eight 5 11.
- Legal powers: Its authority included executing first and reporting afterward, as well as expanding its own forces—powers Kazuna discovered after taking control 66.
- Later membership: By the Chunin Exams, the force remained primarily Uchiha but also included members of other ninja clans and civilian ninja 276.

History
The force’s village-wide patrols made its Uchiha officers highly visible. Strict enforcement, combined with officers’ confrontational manner, contributed to public resentment of the clan 10 20.
After becoming Deputy Head, Kazuna ordered officers to prioritize serious incidents, including loss of life, rather than pursue every minor offense. He also directed them to spend more time training. Patrolling Uchiha subsequently ignored arguments and theft reports that they would previously have handled 10 25.
The reduced enforcement had mixed results. Smiling and greeting residents gradually improved the officers’ reception, but petty theft increased as criminals tested the new policy. Villagers whose belongings were stolen still sought help from the force, exposing how much they had relied on its routine work 66. The force later continued to handle necessary matters and serious incidents while Uchiha officers otherwise kept largely to patrols and training 77.
Notable operations
- Village inspection: Acting Hokage Torifu Akimichi ordered the Military Police and Anbu to jointly inspect Konoha while searching for Orochimaru 140.
- Chunin Exam security: With visiting genin repeatedly causing trouble, the force imposed punishments—including toilet-cleaning—to curb conflicts without disrupting the exams 276.
- Defense of Konoha: After enemy forces retreated, Military Police officers escorted prisoners to cells while Anbu searched for stragglers 291.
