Background and History

Du Yun was a disciple of the Purple God Mansion Lord. Qing Yuzi helped bring his talent to prominence and strongly recommended him to the Source Origin Heavenly Palace; Du Yun calls him “Martial Uncle” 92 93. As Yellow Sand Mansion Lord, Du Yun controls a star system and delegates lower-level affairs to thirty-six governors 198.

He assists Zhao Xing with tomb expeditions and cultivation opportunities, including arranging a Dao Domain Realm instructor for him 113 198. When Zhao Xing comes under an Illusion Curse, Du Yun brings in a Grand Scholar and treats the attack as a failure of his protection 198 480.

During a journey into the past, an impostor posing as Zhao Xing and Qing Yuzi lures Du Yun away from his Dao protectors. The impostor captures and tortures him to exploit the unusual properties of his body 101 184. Zhao Xing later rescues him, although Du Yun initially struggles to trust him because the impostor knows their shared history 184.

Appearance

Du Yun wears an ordinary grayish-yellow fitted outfit rather than his famous sword and armor for his duel with You Beixuan 74.

After being tortured, he resolves to find the person who directed the attack rather than settle for the death of the immediate perpetrator 183.
