Background / History

Ye Ming grew up beside Fu Hua, who repeatedly protected him from fights during childhood. Her academic excellence also motivated him to place near the top of his classes. They attended the same schools through middle school before separating for university and gradually losing contact. Ye Ming later believed their shared childhood was ordinary, unaware that Fu Hua had used the Feather of the Passing World to establish that identity after arriving in this world. 6 9

He spent years living independently, including work on construction sites before moving into a technical-business role. He learned to cook while living alone for more than half a month in elementary school and continues to rely on that skill to care for the people living with him. 3 20 26

Before Laffey's arrival, Ye Ming had already quit Genshin Impact because work left him little energy beyond routine play. He had also gradually abandoned Fate/Grand Order, though he had invested heavily in it. 1 34

In a memory later shown by Fu Hua, Ye Ming survived with a younger Hua in a monster-filled wasteland. He protected her with overwhelming power, urged her to live for a purpose, and entrusted her with protecting Shenzhou. Fu Hua returns to City H and directly asks for a chance to pursue Ye Ming. He cannot accept immediately because of his commitment to Laffey and the other Ship-Girls, forcing him to reveal the unbelievable truth of the girls who seek him. 6 10 11

Liyue International and Keqing

Ye Ming becomes the communications specialist for a Liyue International project and discovers that its project manager is Keqing. Her aggressive pursuit and concealed identity pull him into a relationship that soon becomes part of his increasingly crowded household. 25 27 29 31 39

Missing Servants and an Expanding Household

After finding Servants missing from his Fate/Grand Order account, Ye Ming begins preparing for further arrivals by considering a larger home. His encounters with Okita Souji reinforce his suspicion that his game companions are crossing into reality one by one. 34 37 44
