Fallen Angel
Upon hearing Veratia's question, Mr. LeMay gave a mysterious smile.
"Yes, what do you need...?"
He repeated Veratia's question, smiling, and said, "That is indeed a good question. Please wait a moment."
Having said that, Mr. LeMay turned around and trotted away from the little house.
A short while later, he came running back.
Harry noticed that he was also holding a book in his hands, another one, about the same thickness and size as the one he had found before that summoned the god of death Charm.
Mr. LeMay flipped through the book and found a magic trick.
"Look, this is the magic—" Mr. LeMay glanced at Harry, then at Pabbie, and said with a chuckle, "This magic... though it's not exactly orthodox, can still help a person regain their body. Let me see, it requires the father's bones, the servant's flesh, and the enemy's blood."
Blood of the enemy?
The first few... well, the father's bones are easy to deal with, just dig up the Pabbie grave.
Anyway, Pabbie's father was a notorious poacher, so stealing his bones wasn't a big deal.
The servant's flesh... that's not too difficult, the problem lies in the enemy's blood.
With Pabbie's personality, what enemies could she possibly have at school?
Thinking this way, Harry also asked his soul-searching question.
"That doesn't make sense, Mr. LeMay," he said. "How could Pabbie have enemies at school? You know her personality; you could say she's a very easygoing person..."
"That's not necessarily true," Mr. LeMay suddenly interjected. "As far as I know, Miss Sweeting has two enemies right here in this little house—"
enemy?
Two of them?
Harry spotted Lady Death almost immediately, who was Coke through a straw.
Alright, the enemy is clearly in this room, and god of death is one of them...
What about the other one?
On the contrary, Veratia reached out and grabbed Pabbie by the scruff of her neck.
Two sworn enemies are in this house...
As clever as Veratia was, she immediately understood what was going on.
Pabbie, Pabbie, I never thought you, so meek and obedient, would actually...
However, she thought of Pabbie's current situation.
Veratia sighed, and her hand, which had been gripping the back of her neck, loosened its grip and gently touched the back of her neck.
Pabbie initially a little nervous when her neck was grabbed, but after feeling Veratia's gentle touch, she breathed a long sigh of relief.
Okay, we survived...
Cassandra also realized that Mr. LeMay was implying something, but what exactly he was referring to.
"It's unbelievable," Cassandra whispered, snuggling close to Harry. "My little sidekick is so charming, really..."
Harry didn't understand what Cassandra meant. What did Pabbie's enemies have to do with my charm?
As he pondered this, a sudden inspiration struck him.
?
Could it be... that her enemies are Veratia and Cassandra?
He completed the closed loop in his mind.
"So you're still willing to donate blood?" Harry whispered in Cassandra's ear, "Just as you guessed, her enemy is you."
Harry dared to swear into the lamp, but he was actually just trying to make fun of Cassandra.
However, Cassandra interpreted these words in a completely different way.
What?
Am I the enemy?
Her face gradually flushed a cherry red.
That Potter is really...
Shameless!
"And another question, Lady Death," Dumbledore began. "As I asked before, there are rumors that Voldemort, also known as Tom Riddle, is summoning you in the New World. Is this true?"
"Oh, he did summon me, but I refused his summons," the Lady Death said with a smile, her eyes still fixed on Harry and his group of four. "You know what? I have no interest in someone like him who dreams of immortality, even going so far as to cut his own soul in the process."
Dumbledore and Newt exchanged a glance.
What? The intelligence is fake?
But Newt hesitated for a moment, then asked, "So here's the question, Lady: our intelligence indicates that Voldemort has successfully completed the summoning. If he didn't summon you, then who could he have summoned?"
"Satan," Lady Death answered directly, without beating around the bush, "He is also known as Lucifer, the youngest son of God, and the most powerful of the Fallen Angel."
"Fallen Angel?" Cassandra frowned. "What is that?"
As a wizard, especially one of the Pure-blood ones, Cassandra certainly wouldn't know anything about angels, let alone God.
She was able to know about God thanks to Harry, after all, that kid's catchphrase was "Oh god."
"The so-called Fallen Angel are those who disobey God's will, doubt God, and are therefore opposed to God. In many works with religious overtones, they are referred to as 'the great enemy of the world.'"
Mr. LeMay explained to Cassandra with a smile.
"As the saying goes, the winner takes all and the loser is condemned. Satan and his angels failed to win the battle against God and were cast into Hell, losing their pristine appearance and the beautiful name of angels. In chains, they fight against Heaven for the last remaining dignity and pride."
"It is recorded that God created the world, and all things should submit Chen Fu God. Angels surround God in Heaven, receiving and carrying out His will, assisting God in managing the world, and praising His merits. Lucifer was once a six-winged seraphim before God's throne, the most beautiful and noble of the angels, assisting God, praising Him, and accompanying Him day after day, year after year. There were no objections, no doubts, and no wars."
Mr. LeMay continued his explanation to Cassandra: "One day, God, looking upon the orderly world, resolved to create a new and unique being. So, in His own image, He created the first human being— Adam —and placed him in the Garden of Eden, where he could live freely. God then brought Adam to the temple, naming him the 'Messiah,' and summoned all the angels, demanding that they bow and worship him, honoring and respecting him. Michael and the other angels, with their profound faith in God, diligently obeyed His will. Lucifer, however, hesitated. Angels already lacked freedom; they could not afford to lose their dignity and pride. Faced with Michael's well-intentioned advice, Lucifer politely declined: 'I have served God for millennia; in terms of merit, I am above Adam. I am a six-winged seraphim, second only to God; in terms of status, I am above Adam. I am the fire of fire; in terms of origin, I am above Adam. I possess unparalleled power; in terms of strength, I am above Adam ... Why should I worship him?'"
"God gave the order several times, but Lucifer repeatedly refused it and eventually rebelled—at least that's what God thought."
"Archangel Michael led his legion of angels into battle against Lucifer's followers. They could not withstand the power of God, and defeat was their only outcome."
"After that, God created Hell and cast him and his followers down from the heavens into Hell... From the highest heavens to the deepest depths of Hell, Lucifer fell for nine days and nights and became Demon King, the Satan, and his followers became demons."
"Ha." Cassandra gave a disdainful smile. "In that case, I'll take Mr. Satan's vote—after all, this story does sound like Mr. Satan is in the right."
"You should know what it feels like to face your dad," Veratia said, spreading her hands. "'Even if Dad is wrong, he's still your dad'—but I think Mr. Satan is under much more pressure than we are, after all... God is always right."
"Just thinking about it makes me feel breathless," Pabbie said, sounding a little suffocated. She even buried her head in Harry's arms to take deep breaths.
Then Veratia grabbed Fate by the scruff of her neck and pulled her up.
This donkey...
"Am I right, esteemed Lady?" Mr. LeMay turned to ask god of death.
God of death replied slowly and deliberately, "The beginning and the end are correct. God did not force Lucifer to kneel before Adam, but only to have them take care of the newborn humans. However, Lucifer was unwilling to let the angels become the nurserymen of mankind, so he rebelled against God. The rest is pretty much what you have told me."
"But the reasons are rather complicated. I'm not one to pry into other people's business, so..."
"Then we won't ask anymore," Harry said quickly.
He didn't want to provoke god of death, and besides, he wasn't interested in how Lucifer betrayed God.
"So you mean that Voldemort summoned Satan?" Dumbledore asked again to confirm.
"Yes, right now." The Lady Death glanced at her wrist. "Lucifer's task for him is to open the gates of Hell, allowing Hell and the human world to communicate again. And after that, he will cooperate with the fallen angel Azazel to break the seal and release him."
Hearing the Lady Death's words, Harry frowned and asked, "Why is Lucifer so determined to open the gates of Hell?"
"Because of the soul, child," the Lady Death held up a finger, "Both Heaven and Hell need souls to provide them with energy, and souls can also provide angels and demons with additional power. Do you understand?"
"If we allow Voldemort to complete Lucifer's evil plan, our world will likely be plunged into chaos..." Dumbledore shuddered.
He felt a bit exhausted. His initial goal was to eliminate Voldemort, but now the goal had changed to preventing Voldemort from opening the gates of Hell.
Or perhaps one day in the future, it will become about eliminating Lucifer.
I?
Fight Lucifer?
Is this for real? Holy crap.
Even a legendary wizard like Dumbledore wouldn't dare imagine that he could have a real, offline match with Lucifer.
"I know what you're worried about, but even if Lucifer breaks free of the seal, he's not something you need to worry about," said the Lady Death. "Once Lucifer breaks the seal, he will face Michael's endless pursuit, and the angels generally call this fateful battle ' Apocalypse.'"
"That..."
Pabbie was puzzled, and she looked at god of death with a confused expression.
"Since Michael will engage in a final battle with Lucifer, what do we still have to worry about?"
"I need to remind you, child," God of death sighed, "That generally speaking, the Apocalypse is called the end of the world by you... oh, I mean by human Muggle."
Hearing god of death's words, everyone was horrified.
That way, they'll understand.
"Although I am god of death, I do not want to see the Apocalypse happen," God of death said softly. "Everything has its own laws, and even the so-called God cannot interfere. Therefore, I need you to stop Azazel and Tom Riddle. If they really release Lucifer, then the earth will be plunged into doomsday."
"What you mean by that..." Veratia understood the unspoken meaning behind god of death's words, "Even God can't interfere with the laws of nature? But doesn't the Bible say that God created the world and humanity?"
"Oh, child," God of death shook his head, "Not all humans were created by God, like you... and the world wasn't created by God either. Do you understand what I mean?"
"I understand, Lady." Veratia nodded.
Dumbledore sat in his chair, pondered for a moment, then looked up and said, "So our top priority now is to find Voldemort and stop him from opening the gates of Hell again, isn't that right?"
"No, Dumbledore," Newt said. "Lady Death just said that Voldemort has opened the gates of Hell, and he's probably currently fighting with... Ah..."
Noticing that his nephew had forgotten the name, Pabbie kindly reminded him, "Azazel."
"Yes." Newt smiled at Pabbie. "Azazel, Voldemort is with him searching for a way to break Lucifer's seal."
"This isn't the important thing. In fact, even Lucifer himself doesn't know how to break the seal," God of death reminded him. "Your most urgent task right now is to quickly revive this poor little girl. Death... if this continues, she won't last much longer."
Poor little girl?
Oh, she must have been referring to Pabbie.
Harry reached out and ruffled Pabbie's hair, but before he could speak, Cassandra said, "If needed, I'll provide her with some enemy blood."
She emphasized the word "enemy," and while saying it, she gave Pabbie a meaningful look.
Pabbie instinctively shrank back, feeling that Cassandra's gaze seemed to hold a deeper meaning.
"What about the servant's flesh?" Harry asked again.
Mr. LeMay reached out and placed a hand on Newt's shoulder, then looked up at Harry and said, "We can consider Newt's nephew as a servant, and besides, they are related by blood, so it should be feasible."
"You are Alchemy, you can't use the word 'should'," Veratia whispered a reminder.
"Oh," Mr. LeMay nodded, then corrected himself, "That's probably it."
