Unexpectedly, this single-mindedness backfired, leaving both sides blocked.

To find out what sacrifices are needed to get god of death to answer their questions, god of death must first answer their questions.

It's a closed loop, so it is.

"What do we do now?" Harry asked in a low voice.

"I don't know either..." Veratia answered softly.

"Or..."

Harry glanced at Lady Death, then at Veratia: "How about we buy her another McDonald's's? Oh, or maybe Burger King, I think that would be good too."

"But she's already eaten, Harry," Veratia whispered. "If we're going to try this method, we'll have to wait until tomorrow morning..."

The two people on one side were whispering to each other, while god of death on the other side watched them calmly and without saying a word.

"I still think it would be better to find two Death Eater in Azkaban and kill them on the spot," Cassandra said eagerly. Her target was Bellatrix Lestrange, the infamous Death Eater who, as far as she knew, had corrupted the Malfoy family.

Of course, that's at least what Lucius told her, and to save face for her beloved grand-nephew, Cassandra chose to believe him.

"Those people's souls are utterly corrupt; I suggest we forget about it," Newt objected. "Like Lady Death once said, she's not actually interested in human souls..."

"Then what should we do?" Cassandra countered. "I have reservations. I still think it would be better to capture a few notorious Death Eater from Azkaban."

"Since things have come to this, let's wait until tomorrow," Harry said softly. "I'll have to trouble you to go to McDonald's's and buy some breakfast tomorrow morning, Veratia."

"I don't think we can wait that long, do you think?" Veratia said softly, pressing Harry's hand lightly twice. "You wait here, I'll go out and think of something..."

Harry felt that Veratia should have a way, and he felt a little more at ease, continuing to look up at god of death.

To be honest, the Lady Death was not what Harry had imagined. She was not a serial killer who enjoyed death, but a very kind and gentle old woman.

It's just... she's not that easy to talk to.

However, having principles doesn't seem to be an unexpected characteristic for a deity.

"If you're not in a hurry to return to Hell, Lady..." Dumbledore offered, "Perhaps you could stay at Hogwarts for a while, since there's not much else worth going to besides Hogwarts."

Upon hearing Dumbledore's words, Newt, Harry, Cassandra, and Mr. LeMay all turned around and looked at Dumbledore in disbelief.

No, why do you bring everything to Hogwarts?

What is Hogwarts? Is it some kind of containment center?

But he only thought these words in his heart; he certainly wouldn't dare to say them aloud.

"Unfortunately, it's not what you imagined," the Lady Death said elegantly and softly. "I am not in Hell, and the ritual you performed to summon me to the human world is permanent. The world of the living is something to cherish, and I am not in a hurry to return to where I came from. If you could provide me with a place to stay, that would be truly wonderful."

A sly glint flashed in Dumbledore's eyes.

Actually, his real intention in bringing people to Hogwarts was not to do so, but to use this topic to ask his own questions.

They're exploiting a bug here.

However, he has at least two pieces of information: first, god of death is not in Hell; and second, this summoning is permanent.

"Your wand," God of death said again, "the Elder Wand, isn't it?"

Dumbledore pulled his wand from his pocket and handed it to god of death without hesitation.

"Yes, Lady, this is one of the legendary Deathly Hallows, the Elder Wand."

To everyone's surprise, god of death didn't take the wand; instead, she laughed.

"I've also heard the rumor that collecting the three Deathly Hallows allows one to become the master of god of death —and there's even a rumor that I made those three Hallows myself." God of death chuckled. "But that's just the Peverell brothers ' fabrication, a mere attempt to gild their alchemical artifacts."

"I see." Dumbledore nodded knowingly.

"However, the Resurrection Stone is indeed a good alchemical item; at least it can summon the 'soul' of the dead," God of death said slowly. "But I need to remind you that it is not a soul in the true sense, but rather the person in your memory."

"The person from my memory?" Dumbledore repeated.

"Yes," God of death nodded. "Given your situation, I can answer one question for you—"

As soon as she finished speaking, Veratia walked in from outside, followed by Gellert.

"Lady," Veratia said with a smile to god of death, grabbing Gellert's collar, "I've brought you the offering..."

"Oh, my God, sister," Gellert said sarcastically, "This really saddens me. Did you drag your poor brother out of bed in the middle of the night just to be a sacrifice to god of death?"

To everyone's surprise, Veratia laughed dismissively.

"You wicked thief who stole from my vault, you'll only make bread expensive if you stay in this world!"

"Alright, Veratia," Harry stepped in to stop Veratia, saying, "We can't really use Gellert as a sacrifice, can we? After all, he's your brother..."

"Heh..." Veratia glanced down at Harry and sat down beside him. "I really didn't expect you to be so close to him— Saint Potter..."

Cassandra's face suddenly darkened.

Saint Potter?

Isn't that the nickname I gave him?

"Of course, I didn't expect this stinky guy to become any decent sacrifice, I just..."

As she spoke, Veratia pulled a necklace from Gellert's body, with a green gem the size of an egg set in the very center of the necklace.

"This is Ancient Egyptian Emerald Necklace, said to be an ornament worn by Anubis, the Egypt god of death." Veratia handed the gemstone necklace to the Lady Death. "Take a look."

Harry recognized the necklace at a glance; wasn't it the one he and Veratia had seized at the Ashwinder Party headquarters?

Anyway, that's what the Ashwinder leader said, but he wasn't interested in these things, so he put them in Veratia's vault.

At the same time, Veratia hugged Harry's arm.

"What's wrong?" Harry asked in a low voice.

"To replenish magic power," Veratia replied softly.

God of death took the necklace, glanced at it briefly, and nodded, saying, "It does indeed belong to that dog Anubis; it can barely be used as a sacrifice."

"Alright, now let's answer the first question." The Lady Death glanced at Harry. "But before that, I need to talk to you about Pabbie Sweeting, about her health."

"What's wrong with her?" Harry asked quickly.

Veratia and Cassandra also looked up, wanting to see what the Lady Death had to say about Pabbie.

Newt didn't dare delay, turning around and running out as fast as he could, shouting, "I'm going to find her!"

Soon after, Pabbie was taken back to the Alchemy Room by Newt.

Pabbie looked around like a curious child, wondering what her nephew had brought her here for.

"Hi, Harry, Veratia... oh, and Cassandra." Pabbie greeted them one by one until she saw god of death.

The moment Pabbie saw god of death, she let out a whoosh and quickly hid behind Harry, who was sitting on the bench, peeking out her little head to secretly look at god of death.

"You... what are you doing here?" Pabbie asked in fear.

Harry was stunned.

Pabbie knows god of death?

"You ran away very fast, second only to the France I encountered."

God of death's words silenced both Pabbie and Mr. LeMay.

Mr. LeMay now wants to learn Time Magic so he can go back to World War II and give those unworthy descendants a good lesson.

Good heavens, you've completely disgraced France.

"If I were you, Miss Sweeting," God of death said slowly, "I would be glued to that Potter right now—like Miss Malfoy and Miss Grindelwald. Don't you find it increasingly difficult to control the form of the magical Margus?"

"Huh? Really?" Pabbie asked, craning her neck.

God of death didn't speak, but gave her a speechless look.

Whether it exists or not, you yourself don't know, right?

"Let me handle this," Mr. LeMay sighed. "Miss Sweeting really should get to know Harry; she definitely needs the Philosopher's Stone."

"Yes."

Lady Death finally smiled.

"But... it's really hard to choose, isn't it?"

It's really hard not to find it amusing. Cassandra is sitting to Harry's left, and Veratia is to his right. Veratia is holding his arm to replenish his magic, while Cassandra on the other side still has that arrogant look on her face.

"Go on, Aunt Pabbie!" Newt whispered to Pabbie, encouraging her.

Pabbie walked around to Harry's front and put the horn away.

She glanced at Cassandra, only to find that Cassandra's hand was already gripping Harry's arm tightly, her expression clearly saying—impossible.

Never mind, she lunged forward and snuggled into Harry's arms.

"Give me some—hehehe... give me some..."

"Hehehe..." She let out another triumphant laugh, "Then it's settled— Cassandra will be on the left, Veratia on the right, and I'll be in the middle..."

Just as Cassandra and Veratia were preparing to unite against a common enemy, Mr. LeMay suddenly spoke again.

"I told Miss Sweeting long ago that half-ghosts like her can regain their physical bodies with the help of Philosopher's Stone..."

Veratia, who was about to rub Pabbie's chin, suddenly looked up and asked uncertainly, "What did you say? Mr. LeMay? Pabbie, she's a ghost?!"

Cassandra also looked at Mr. LeMay, wanting to know what was going on with Pabbie.

However, Pabbie lowered her head and buried it in Harry's arms, not wanting to look up at the people in the room at all.

"I'm sorry I kept this a secret for so long," Mr. LeMay said regretfully, "But it's true. Miss Sweeting had a mishap while practicing her magical Margus, so she can only remain in a state somewhere between a ghost and Unicorn."

"Is this true, Pabbie?" Harry asked eagerly.

He lowered his head, wanting to reach out and touch Pabbie's head, but found that both his hands were being held in someone's arms, and he couldn't move...

"Yeah, yeah." Pabbie lowered her head like a pony, bumping Harry's stomach repeatedly, and muttered, "Of course it's true, of course it's true... Honestly, I was planning to ask Mr. LeMay to keep it a secret, but who knew he couldn't keep a secret like that."

"I'm doing this for your own good, Miss Sweeting," Mr. LeMay said casually. "It is indeed a matter that urgently needs to be addressed. Do you really want to remain trapped like Unicorn forever?"

"Pabbie," Veratia said softly, "Is what Mr. LeMay said true?"

"Hmm." Pabbie nodded, and a flash of light appeared around her, revealing a Hufflepuff girl.

It was a translucent ghost—you could tell, it was clearly different from the ghosts in the school.

"It is very difficult to reshape a ghost's body," Mr. LeMay said with a smile. "But Miss Sweeting's case is a bit special. You could say she's dead, but that's not quite accurate... Miss Sweeting's attempt to become magical Margus failed because she didn't have enough magic power, so the Philosopher's Stone can help her reshape her body."

"What about the others?" Harry thought of Sebastian.

"Only she can," Mr. LeMay said regretfully.

Seeing Pabbie's ghostly appearance, Cassandra and Veratia had nothing to say.

never mind...

One more of her makes no difference, one less of her makes no difference...

Besides, how can a ghost be as threatening as Grindelwald / Malfoy?

Thinking of this, Veratia and Cassandra locked eyes once more, their gazes meeting in front of Harry...

"I think you should pay more attention to Pabbie."

Harry felt a little breathless, after all, the oppressive feeling from both sides was too strong.

He felt as if he were in the strongest part of a storm, like a piece of duckweed swaying in the wind, being ravaged by two hurricanes locked in a struggle.

However, to Veratia's surprise, after pinching Harry for a while, Cassandra actually let go of him on her own.

"I think Potter is right," Cassandra turned to Mr. LeMay. "Rather than drawing some life energy, I think Pabbie's current state is what needs care—of course, I'm not some shameless philanderer, I wouldn't do that..."

She looked down at Harry, who was still being held by Veratia's arm.

They were all squeezed out of Transfiguration by Harry's arms!

"I'm always clinging to a teenager, and I even forget about my best friend—after all, I don't have any secret fetishes."

Having said that, before Veratia could retort, she asked Mr. LeMay, "Tell me about Pabbie, Mr. LeMay —I think there are others in this room who need more help... Is that why she can't eat?"

"Yes," Mr. LeMay nodded, "But to reshape Miss Sweeting's body, we'll need some rather special methods."

"What is it?" Harry looked up and asked.

At this moment, Veratia also let go of his arm.
