Abilities & Skills

Limitless Cursed Technique

Gojo’s inherited technique manipulates space, most notably through Infinity, which prevents attacks from reaching him.

  • Infinity — creates an unreachable spatial gap between Gojo and an incoming target; even direct attacks cannot make contact without a method of neutralizing cursed techniques. 94 95
  • Automatic defense — his control allows Limitless to assess approaching objects by their cursed energy, mass, speed, and shape, functioning as a near-passive defense. 208
  • Forward Cursed Technique: Blue — produces a gravitational, black-hole-like sphere capable of instantly destroying a large cursed spirit’s head. 68
  • Can use Limitless to repel objects, including Natsu Hiraku’s unstable Scattering Rasengan construct. 38

Six Eyes

Gojo’s Six Eyes grant exceptional perception and efficiency, forming the basis of his overwhelming cursed-energy control.

  • Reduces cursed-energy expenditure to a fraction of what other sorcerers would require. 197
  • Provides a 360-degree field of vision and long-range perception of cursed energy. 192
  • Enables his high-precision use of Limitless and its derivative techniques. 68 197

Teleportation

Gojo can compress the distance between two points through a Limitless-derived technique, producing a teleportation-like effect.

  • Teleported Panda and Toge Inumaki directly toward Jujutsu High during Suguru Geto’s attack. 65
  • Repeatedly repositioned behind Miguel during their battle. 68
  • The technique is stated to require the Six Eyes. 68

Reverse Cursed Technique

Gojo can use Reverse Cursed Technique to maintain himself during prolonged combat.

  • Continuously repairs his brain while Limitless operates at high frequency. 208
  • Taught Natsu Hiraku the principles of Reverse Cursed Technique and recognized his potential to learn it quickly. 38

Domain Expansion: Infinite Void

Gojo’s Domain Expansion overwhelms targets with information.

  • Floods opponents’ brains with immense quantities of information, incapacitating them. 208
  • Activated it for precisely 0.2 seconds in Shibuya to stop approximately one thousand artificial cursed spirits while limiting harm to nearby non-sorcerers. 208
  • Easily overwhelmed Natsu Hiraku’s reflected substitute during their Domain comparison. 95

Hand-to-Hand Combat

Even when his cursed technique is disrupted, Gojo remains an exceptionally dangerous close-range fighter.

  • Overpowered Miguel with rapid punches, throws, and a slam despite Miguel’s cursed tool disrupting Gojo’s technique. 68
  • Defeated multiple Grade 1 sorcerers before they could activate their cursed techniques. 47
  • Used Black Flash to destroy most of Jogo’s body with a single punch. 94

Equipment / Items

  • Blindfold / dark glasses — worn to cover his Six Eyes. 1 56
  • Prison Realm — was sealed within its Gate of Opening during the Shibuya Incident, then later released after the object was damaged and broken apart. 208 209 283

Relationships

  • Natsu Hiraku — Student whom Gojo discovered shortly after Natsu’s arrival in the world of jujutsu; Gojo recruited him, guided his admission to Jujutsu High, trained him, and continued to claim him as his student despite the higher-ups’ concerns. 1 2 38 94 128
  • Yuta Okkotsu — Student whom Gojo protects from execution and attempts by others to control Rika; he supports Yuta’s decision to train abroad with Miguel. 39 47 69
  • Yuji Itadori — Student whose execution Gojo delays by proposing that Yuji consume all of Sukuna’s fingers; Gojo later personally trains him. 74 75 128
  • Suguru Geto — Former close companion whose defection deeply affected Gojo; Geto’s reappearance and apparent resurrection were used to exploit Gojo’s emotions during his sealing. 55 66 209
  • Yaga Masamichi — Principal and colleague who relies on Gojo to lead students and manage crises, despite regularly criticizing his irresponsibility. 35 128 199
  • Yoshinobu Gakuganji — Kyoto’s principal and an ideological opponent; they repeatedly clash over Yuta, student promotion, and the future of jujutsu society. 39 41 101
  • Utahime Iori — Colleague with whom Gojo has a combative, teasing rapport; he later entrusts her with investigating a suspected traitor. 45 172 173
  • Megumi Fushiguro — Student whom Gojo mentors and accompanies while investigating an organization connected to Natsu Hiraku. 12 175 192
  • Miguel — Initially an enemy assigned to stall Gojo, later treated with mercy and allowed to train Yuta overseas. 68 69

Story Role / Major Arcs

Recruitment of Natsu Hiraku

While out for a late-night snack, Gojo encounters Natsu Hiraku shortly after the boy’s parents’ deaths. Intrigued by Natsu’s unusual eyes and cursed energy, he invites him to Jujutsu High and later recommends him to Principal Yaga as a promising student. 1 2

Gojo guides Natsu through his admission, introduces him to Jujutsu High’s role in exorcising curses, and begins acting as his teacher and protector. 2 10

Mentor of Tokyo Jujutsu High

Gojo oversees the early development of Natsu, Yuta, Maki, Toge, Panda, and later Yuji, Megumi, and Nobara. He gives them missions, arranges training, explains jujutsu theory, and entrusts responsibilities to them even when his methods appear casual. 4 31 38 73 75

During the Kyoto exchange event, he shields Yuta from faculty intervention and demonstrates the gap between himself and Grade 1 sorcerers by defeating several of them effortlessly. 47

Conflict with Suguru Geto

Gojo identifies Suguru Geto as a threat targeting Yuta Okkotsu and resolves not to hold back against his former companion. 55

When Geto attacks Jujutsu High, Gojo is delayed by Miguel but returns after Natsu’s battle with Geto. He confronts Geto after the latter is fatally wounded and learns of his role in the attack. 65 66

Opposition to the Higher-Ups

Gojo repeatedly resists the conservative leadership’s attempts to execute or restrict dangerous students, including Yuta and Yuji. 39 74 75

He states that his goal is to replace the corrupt leadership through education rather than simple assassination, cultivating a generation strong enough to reform the jujutsu world. 43 93

Shibuya Incident and Sealing

Jujutsu Headquarters sends Gojo alone into Shibuya after a Curtain traps non-sorcerers and specifically demands his presence. 205

Inside the subway, Jogo, Hanami, and Uraume exploit civilians as shields to limit Gojo’s large-scale techniques. Gojo ultimately activates Infinite Void for 0.2 seconds and eliminates roughly one thousand artificial cursed spirits to protect the surviving civilians. 208

Exhausted and emotionally shaken by the appearance of Suguru Geto’s body, Gojo is sealed within the Prison Realm by the entity possessing Geto. 208 209

Release from the Prison Realm

After Gojo’s sealing, Jujutsu Headquarters abandons him and attempts to support Natsu Hiraku as a replacement power. 223

Natsu repeatedly attempts to destroy or open the Prison Realm, first failing with the Heavenly Inverted Spear. 233 234

The Prison Realm is eventually damaged by Natsu’s Truth-Seeking Orbs, allowing Gojo to return. He reunites with his students less than a month after being sealed. 283

Cursed Spirit Education

Following his release, Gojo is named alongside Natsu Hiraku and Choso as a responsible party for a planned Jujutsu High intended to train cursed spirits and grant registered students human status. 280
