Background / History

Maki was born into the Zenin Family, one of Japan's Three Great Families, but her Cursed Energy was lower than that of an ordinary person. She could not see cursed spirits without her glasses and depended on Cursed Tools that inherently possessed Cursed Energy. Her family treated her and her sister as failures; before entering Jujutsu High, she served in the Zenin Tool-Bearing Squad. 57 101 238

Rather than accept the role assigned to her, Maki left the family and enrolled at Tokyo Jujutsu High. Her stated ambition was to become a Grade 1 sorcerer, humiliate the relatives who demeaned her, and eventually bring down the Zenin Family from within. 57 101

Maki joins Natsu Hiraku and Yuta Okkotsu in searching an elementary school for missing children. When a massive cursed spirit swallows her and Yuta, she sustains an injury while prioritizing the children's rescue. 5
