Background / History

Suguru Geto is a Special Grade Curse User who had formerly been associated with Jujutsu High. Gojo Satoru recalls having been a second-year alongside Geto and Shoko Ieiri, while Nanami Kento later remembers him as one of the seniors he trusted. Geto eventually defected after becoming increasingly extreme in his beliefs. He was responsible for massacring hundreds of people, including his own parents. 55 62 221

After his defection, Geto established a religious organization. He publicly performed exorcisms and accepted donations, but privately viewed non-sorcerers as “monkeys.” He used followers to raise funds and collect Cursed Spirits, disposing of supporters once they ceased to be useful. 42 61

Geto sought to create a world inhabited only by sorcerers. He initially proposed killing all non-sorcerers, then revised the plan to leave ten percent alive and train their survivors and descendants as sorcerers. He considered Yuta Okkotsu and Rika Orimoto essential to removing Gojo Satoru from the equation. 31 54

Before the Night of a Hundred Demons, Geto approached Natsu Hiraku repeatedly. Though Natsu rejected his ideology, Geto took an interest in his rapid growth and asked him to care for Mimiko and Nanako if he died. 30 42 54 61

On December 24, Geto announced the Night of a Hundred Demons and deployed thousands of Cursed Spirits as a nationwide threat. He personally attacked Tokyo Jujutsu High, severely injured Maki Zenin, and battled Natsu. After Natsu destroyed Tamamo-no-Mae Incarnation and wounded him with Mirror Shatter, Geto used his Extreme Technique: Vortex. Gojo later confronted the defeated Geto and killed him. 62 64 65 66

Posthumous body possession

After Geto’s death, an unidentified brain-like entity took control of his body and continued operating under his name. This impostor recruited Nanako and Mimiko by promising to return Geto’s remains, manipulated Cursed Spirits and Curse Users, and used Geto’s body to help seal Gojo Satoru during the Shibuya Incident. 73 74 209 211

The possessor retained access to Geto’s body and Cursed Spirit Manipulation but also displayed abilities not documented during Geto’s life, including Gravity. It pursued a long-term plan to optimize humanity through cursed energy and later allied with Roppongi. 203 229

Appearance

Suguru Geto is typically seen in a kasaya or black-and-gold kesa. After his death, the body controlled by the impostor is identifiable by stitches across the forehead. 42 62 74 209

  • Wears traditional Buddhist-style robes. 42 62
  • Carries black spheres formed from subdued Cursed Spirits. 42 61
  • The possessed body bears visible forehead stitches, concealing the brain-like entity within. 74 209

Personality

Geto presents himself as gentle, courteous, and approachable. He speaks to Natsu like a concerned older brother, protects guests from his followers’ hostility, and shows affection toward Mimiko and Nanako. 30 42 54

Behind this manner, he is deeply contemptuous of non-sorcerers, whom he repeatedly calls “monkeys.” He treats ordinary people as resources for money or Cursed Spirit collection, killing those he considers useless. 42 61

Despite his brutality, Geto retains attachments to fellow sorcerers. He admits that he does not hate those at Jujutsu High, calls Gojo his opposite in softness of heart, and arranges for his followers to withdraw before his final confrontation. 66

Abilities & Skills

Cursed Spirit Manipulation

Geto’s innate technique allows him to subdue and control naturally occurring Cursed Spirits without forming a master-servant bond. 62

  • Extracts Cursed Spirits from victims and condenses them into black spheres. 42
  • Swallows the spheres to add Cursed Spirits to his collection, though he finds the process disgusting. 42
  • Built a force exceeding two thousand Cursed Spirits for the Night of a Hundred Demons. 62
  • Can deploy swarms and high-grade Cursed Spirits against opponents. 65 66

Special Grade Cursed Spirits

Geto possesses and deploys powerful Cursed Spirits collected through Cursed Spirit Manipulation.

  • Tamamo-no-Mae Incarnation — an Imaginary Special Grade Cursed Spirit used during the battle at Tokyo Jujutsu High; it was destroyed by Natsu Hiraku. 65 66
  • Giant Elephant Cursed Spirit — a massive Special Grade Curse later used by the possessor of Geto’s body; it can traverse space and eliminate obstacles through its conceptual technique. 202
  • Void Demon God — a highly adaptive shikigami deployed by the possessor against Megumi Fushiguro. 222

Extreme Technique: Vortex

Geto’s Extreme Technique combines his amassed Cursed Spirits into a devastating attack. He used it against Natsu after sustaining severe injuries. 66

  • Its power depends on the number and quality of Cursed Spirits Geto has available.
  • Geto’s earlier defeat is attributed in part to having deployed too many of his strongest Cursed Spirits elsewhere. 89

Barrier Techniques

Geto can erect Curtains for concealment and battlefield control.

  • Created a soundproof Curtain for his private conversation with Natsu. 54
  • Raised a Curtain over Tokyo Jujutsu High during the Night of a Hundred Demons. 64

Techniques of the possessor

The entity controlling Geto’s corpse demonstrates powers that should not be treated as abilities confirmed to have belonged to Suguru Geto himself.

  • Gravity — abruptly increases gravitational pressure, forcing enemies and attacks downward; it interrupted Haku’s Mirror Shatter-enhanced assault. 203
  • Body possession — removes the skull cap and transfers its brain-like body into a host, gaining access to the host body and its memories. 116 209
  • Prison Realm operation — used Geto’s body and the Prison Realm to trap Gojo Satoru after exploiting Gojo’s emotional reaction to seeing his deceased friend. 209

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Cloudy — a red weapon used to pierce Natsu Hiraku during their final battle. 66
  • DSLR camera — used to take commemorative photographs with his followers. 61
  • Black spheres — condensed forms of subdued Cursed Spirits. 42 61
  • Yuta Okkotsu’s Special Grade Sorcerer ID — carried as part of his plan to target Yuta and Rika; returned to Gojo before Geto’s death. 54 66

Relationships

  • Satoru Gojo — former best friend and fellow Jujutsu High student; their opposing paths culminate in Gojo killing Geto after the Night of a Hundred Demons. 55 66
  • Natsu Hiraku — a junior Geto considers unusually promising and likable; Geto repeatedly tries to recruit or manipulate him, then asks him to care for Mimiko and Nanako after his death. 30 42 54 61
  • Mimiko Hasaba — follower regarded as part of Geto’s family; she and Nanako later seek to recover his body from its possessor. 54 61 211
  • Nanako Hasaba — follower regarded as part of Geto’s family; she later begs Natsu to free Geto’s body from the impostor. 54 61 219
  • Yuta Okkotsu — target of Geto’s plan due to Rika Orimoto’s Special Grade power; Geto considers Yuta crucial to defeating Gojo. 54 66
  • Mahito — ally of the entity possessing Geto’s body; they cooperate on artificial Cursed Spirit experiments and the Shibuya plan. 76 185 202
  • Jogo, Hanami, and Dagon — Cursed Spirit allies involved in the plans carried out through Geto’s possessed body. 94 114 211
  • Tsukumo Yuki — an ideological opponent of the possessor, who challenges its plan to optimize humanity through cursed energy. 229
