Background
Todo first meets Tokyo Jujutsu High first-year Natsu Hiraku at Takada’s autograph event. Assuming that Natsu is a fellow fan, he immediately declares them kindred spirits, gives him his shirt and autograph, introduces himself, and asks about his preferred type of woman. 16
During the Kyoto Goodwill Event’s badge-stealing competition, Todo ignores Kyoto’s team strategy to fight Natsu one-on-one. He rejects Noritoshi Kamo’s attempts to interfere, treating the match as a personal duel between “best friends.” 40
Todo recognizes Natsu’s refined cursed-energy control and physical fundamentals after their battle. He seeks Natsu out afterward, forcibly entering through his window to invite him out, then offers to teach him Black Flash. 42
A year later, Todo travels to Tochigi alone after learning that Natsu may miss the exchange event. He follows Natsu’s family at night and ultimately gets the spar he wanted; the two fight solely through taijutsu and Black Flash until the match ends in a draw. 130 132 133
During the following exchange event, Todo battles Megumi Fushiguro. Megumi’s completed Chimera Shadow Garden overwhelms him and wins the match, prompting Todo to reflect on his own need for a Domain Expansion. 175 176 184
In Shibuya, Todo confronts the Special Grade Cursed Spirit Dagon at Daikanyama Station. Trapped inside Abyssal Horizon, he uses Black Flash to disrupt Dagon’s sure-hit attack and awakens Unfair Duet, defeating Dagon alongside an imagined version of Natsu. 223 224
Appearance
Todo is a towering, heavily muscular sorcerer with an imposing presence; he is repeatedly described as approximately 1.9 meters tall. 15 39
- Frequently removes his shirt before or during combat, exposing his muscular upper body. 16 40 175
- Usually wears Kyoto Jujutsu High’s black uniform when not fighting. 42 130
- Wears a pendant or necklace that he associates with his imagined bond with Natsu. 133 223
Personality
Todo is intensely direct, emotional, and battle-driven. He sees combat as a means of mutual understanding and forms attachments quickly to people he considers worthy, immediately referring to Natsu as his “brother,” “best friend,” and later treating Yuta Okkotsu as a rival. 16 40 48
He has little patience for hierarchy, strategy meetings, or political concerns. Todo openly defies Noritoshi Kamo and Kyoto’s leadership when their orders conflict with his personal idea of a proper fight. 40 101 173
Despite his aggression, Todo is perceptive and respectful toward strength and conviction. He identifies the operating rules of Kirara Hoshi’s technique in combat, recognizes Megumi’s growth, and takes Kokichi Muta’s wish to protect Kasumi Miwa seriously. 46 175 195
Todo is an enthusiastic fan of Takada and often frames his emotions, friendships, and imagined memories around her. He openly states that he likes tall, mischievous women with large chests. 16 39 48
Abilities & Skills
Immoral Game
Todo’s innate Cursed Technique allows him to exchange the positions of targets imbued with Cursed Energy by clapping his hands.
- Can swap himself, opponents, cursed tools, debris, and other cursed-energy-bearing objects. 41 223
- Enhances ordinary objects such as pebbles with Cursed Energy to create new swap points. 223
- Uses rapid swaps to alter an opponent’s orientation, redirect attacks, evade danger, and create openings for physical strikes. 41 223
- Requires a valid target with Cursed Energy; he cannot freely swap with objects that lack it. 41
Physical Combat and Cursed Energy Reinforcement
Todo possesses exceptional physical strength, durability, and close-quarters combat ability, even among Grade 1-level sorcerers.
- Forces Natsu into direct defensive combat through raw punching power during their first exchange-event duel. 40 41
- Trades powerful blows with Yuta and warns him when overloading his sword with Cursed Energy. 47
- Breaks free from Megumi’s summoned toads almost immediately and continues fighting through lightning damage and heavy injuries. 176
- Batters Dagon through stone pillars and repeatedly overwhelms him in hand-to-hand combat. 223
Black Flash
Todo understands Black Flash well enough to instruct others and can enter the heightened state himself.
- Offers to teach Natsu after judging that Natsu is close to achieving it. 42
- Simultaneously triggers Black Flash with Natsu during their prolonged spar. 132
- Uses Dagon’s endless shikigami swarm to refine his timing, then lands a Black Flash powerful enough to break Dagon’s guard and dispel his swarm. 223
Tactical Analysis
Todo combines his physical ability with rapid battlefield deduction.
- Correctly deduces the rules and sequence behind Kirara Hoshi’s Stellar Flight by analyzing its marks and movement restrictions. 46
- Identifies Megumi’s activation condition for Immoral Game during their rematch, even while injured. 175
- Uses thrown objects, terrain, and opponents’ cursed energy as improvised anchors for his technique. 41 223
Domain Expansion: Unfair Duet
Todo’s Domain Expansion develops Immoral Game into a coordinated, sure-hit position-swapping battlefield. 223 224
- Its barrier adapts to the existing environment rather than creating an entirely separate landscape, conserving Cursed Energy. 224
- Its sure-hit effect can enable swaps involving extremely small targets such as microorganisms, raindrops, and leaves. 224
- Manifested an imaginary Natsu Hiraku, possessing roughly 40% of the original’s strength and able to use Todo’s own Immoral Game. 224
- Lets Todo and his imagined partner chain swaps and Black Flashes in rapid succession, overwhelming Dagon. 224
