Yuji is identified by Megumi Fushiguro at Sugisawa Hospital while mourning. Megumi seeks the dangerous cursed object in Yuji's possession, but Yuji has already become involved with it. 71

After swallowing Sukuna's finger, Yuji proves capable of reclaiming control from the King of Curses. Natsu Hiraku brings him to Tokyo Jujutsu High, where becoming a sorcerer is presented as his only alternative to immediate exorcism. 72 73

Gojo later informs Yuji that he has received a death sentence. His execution is delayed on the condition that he consume all twenty Sukuna fingers first, and Yuji accepts the arrangement. 77

Personality

Yuji is compassionate to an extreme, repeatedly prioritizing wounded civilians and companions even when doing so puts him in danger. At the juvenile reformatory, he refuses to abandon a dying survivor and is devastated when the man dies before help can arrive. 82
